Who has their plot and headstone?
Thinking about getting the final dirt nap location and stone all lined up. At 49 I should have a few years left but you never know, Anyone else planning ahead this far?

for me, just throw another log on the fire.
Much better than rotting in a box. Besides, if you're ashes scattered someplace, you don't really care if someone else with the same name gets buried next to your mother instead of you. |
When my Dad died 14 years ago (almost exactly...) we purchased 4 plots next to eachother. Dad is on one end, Mom will go next to him, and either the other 2 will be sold or my brother and I will end up in 'em...

I recommend it. I have my plot but no headstone. My father died unexpectedly about 10 years ago. There is a small country cemetary nearby so that's where we wanted him burried, and we wanted to start a family area. Turns out there were only 4 spots left in any one area, so we took them to keep the family together. My father in law died unexpectedly a few years later and my wife and I wanted to burry him next to my father, but my (now ex mother, I don't talk to her) threw a fit so my wife and I bought a set of plots nearby. If being able to chose your location and save enough space around you to allow for family to be near by, I strongly recommend getting your plots squared away early. It feels kind of odd, but the cemetary that I used to explore as a kid now includes my father and father in law, an uncle, who I go to visit, and space I walk by, knowing I will be there one day as well. Very sobering. It's a good feeling to have.

I'm planning on cremation and my family can do whatever they want with my cremains, no plot for me...

Apparently there is a company that will take one's ashes and make them into a diamond - that might be a cool way to be remembered; perhaps on a ring or nice necklace.
:) Best, |
Hefty Bag and the curb is all I need.

I'd rather spend my cash on fuel than on a hole in the ground, but hope you find a nice place to rest if that is what you choose to do.
My dust is going off a cliff on the west coast of Ireland, myself and the dog riding the Atlantic waves together one last time :) |
Cremation for me thanks.

The real estate is out of site. My sister passed in Jan. My folks who are pushing 80, did not buy years ago when the plots were reasonable. My folks bought 4 plots, the funeral, headstone, casket ect was 50K plus. This is in newport beach, ca though.

I want to rot out in the woods...

Planning on a cremation, and a coffee can would be appropriate. Then sprinkled around here and there.

into the toaster, then the 'rainbow bridge'. Got some old friend's waiting.

Toss my ashes in the wind for all I care.

Burn my dumb ass up. Is burial a religious thing or what? Why would you want that?
