Yeah, the lawn dudes start em up at 7:01 around here. But I don't care, I am leaving for work and I never see them on Saturdays.

As long as you're not my neighbor, it's fine. Yeah, I'm thinking 9, as well.

You would be sniper bait (with my pellet gun) if you were running your lawn mower at 7:30 on a Sat.

I'd be tempted to beat someone silly if they fired up a power mower at 7:30am on the weekend. That's right about when I'm finally sleeping decently...

Hey...I am the "crazy old Bast@rd" who lives next door and that was according to the sweet old ladys who lived next door. I to start my lawn mower up at 7 AM to cut my patch of fake grass in the backyard...well I just sit and let it run for 20 minutes while I sit and drink my expresso in the morininigs. It gives me something to do, and I feel usefull doing it.

If someone fired up the lawn mower at 7:30, they'd quickly find their lawn covered in some rotten meat.

Took the wifes grandkids out to Pizza Hut for lunch today. One of the kids complained that the pizza was leaking. I told him to sprinkle some parm cheese on the pizza and it'll soak it up. He turns his head, looks me in the eye and says "So sprinkle cheese is like kitty litter for food?"

If you lived next door to me and were running a mower at 7am, you'd probably find me running mine at about midnight or 1am that night. Weekdays, no problem. Weekends, no noise before at least 9am - never mind what the law says, it's just common courtesy. If it's really too hot to be mowing by 10 or 11, maybe you should mow in the evenings, or hire a service to do it on a weekday.

I love it. Most of the same people posting here about being woke-up too early by lawnmowers are the same who are outraged when an HOA or a Condo Association tells them what they can/can't do with their property... LOL squared.

Doesn't sound like you.

I had a buddy with a Harley with open exhausts though who used to fire it up at 6:30 AM in front of his apartment building. Someone poured a 32 oz. coke in his gas tank. Left the paper cup on the ground next to the bike...

He moved the bike pronto to a lockup. But here's the thing - He walked to work ! He just liked to hear the bike and rev it.

Geez, you guys are harsh!! Guess I should be glad no one around me owns a pellet gun...

I've since changed my habits...no mowing until at least 8:30. If your lazy a$$ is still in bed by then it's your own damn fault!!

Much like being afraid of the Russians did the same for the US in the 80s and being afraid of You Know Who does the same for the bunker dwellers of this board.

i have a 3yr old so mow away in the am. i honestly enjoy the sound as it means someone cares about their yard. i don't want to hear stereos in the early am and i'd rather the trash guys came by a bit later on Fri. am (4am) but other than that i don't mind.

What a bunch of lazy bastards. What the hell are you doing in bed at 7:30 on a Saturday morning? By that time I have already mowed the lawn, weed-eated, edged, and am warming up the Harley or the 911 in the driveway for my morning ride.

I'm usually out of bed well before 7:30. And I like it quiet. Make some coffee. Sit and read the paper on the front porch.

My weekday mornings are hectic. I want, need, some piece and quiet for a at least a little while on the weekends.

If I can hear anything inside my place to the level of being annoying (assuming I've got the windows closed) I don't care what the time of day is, it is too damn loud.

Having to listen to other peoples' stereos/TVs is one of my big pet peeves. If you have to listen to the damn thing that loud to the point the people next door or across the street can hear it, it's just absurd/ridiculous.

I had one a-hole neighbor a few years ago (actually three of 'em - a collection of slutty obnoxious UCLB "party girl" types that never studied and were just there blowing mommy & daddy's money) who would routinely blare their stereo late into the night (on weekdays too, since all days are pretty much the same when you're in college taking the minimum # of credit hours). This was back when I was flying cargo too, so was often getting home dead-dog tired at 10:00 or 11:00 at night having to be back in for duty at 4:00 or whatever the next morning. One time (they'd all either gone into the back rooms to f*ck their boyfriend-of-the-week or passed out (or both) and left the g-damn stereo on volume loud enough to be "conversation volume" loud inside my place, inside my own bedroom with the windows & door closed. I was so pissed I actually opened their door and went into their place, ripped the cord out of the wall and slammed THEIR front door shut as I left. Never heard another word about it. Either they don't know what happened and just forgot about it or totally lived in fear of me from that point, figuring I'd snap on them (which I might've actually, looking back on it). Either way, I got the desired outcome (they were slightly more considerate for the few more months they remained before moving out). I swear if they'd pulled it again I'd have either cut the power cord with a knife or dumped water into the g-damn thing.

People just suck. Large populations of people living in close density are even worse. Don't even get me started on the a-holes who like to cruise around in their pimp-rides blasting mariarchi or rap or some other POS pseudo-music at anytime from 6:30 AM to 2:00 AM. This is a residential neighborhood with at least a couple hundred people living within earshot at any given time. D*ckheads. Good thing this hasn't happened in a while (maybe gas is getting too expensive?)

"WTF?" I ask.

Turns out he's discovered that you can buy copper scouring pads at Home Hardware and Costco for less than the price of copper - and he's hoarding this stuff waiting for the price of copper to rise still further. (Seems it's $4.00 +/- a pound now, and one of these ten-packs from Home Hardware also weighs in at a pound but only costs $2.49 - and sometimes less.)

The things people do. This guy is one of the brightest guys I know, but smokes far too much reefer and has never done a serious days work in his life. In the early '80's he was peripherally implicated in a plot to assassinate Margaret Thatcher and did some time, but since then he's just been cruising. Almost cornered the mustard seed market once and made a bundle.

But copper scouring pads?
That's about what I would expect from a pot head.
