After sitting in our building today with the power off working by light in the west windows, it makes me quite sad to come home to a house that has been closed up all day..gotta be 105 inside...

Guys, that's nothing. I'm in San Luis Obispo right now, and it was 111 at 3 PM (44 C at the airport). They're breaking records up here.

91 degrees at Surfer's Beach just north of Half Moon Bay. That's Northern Califronia. Nice waves, too.

Minneapolis just got its first 80 degree day of the year. That is if it actually got that high. Been a cold, wet spring.

Been inside all day w the a/c on 78 degrees, Oh I had to go to the store, my R-12 in my MB froze me out. I know its hot outside, Al Gore predicted this..............not
we have had heat waves in CA since I was born here 1958. What a shock a heat wave in June. We will have at least 5 more before Oct-nov

Is that considered hot this time of year out there?
Raleigh is only supposed to be in the mid-80's during June and we had about 5 days breaking 100 degrees with humidity. Cooled down back to the 80's for now....

96degrees...............call the WAAAAAAAM-BULANCE! 114 yesterday tied record set in i think 1968. today possibly 115 degrees.
cindy mccains bank acct is soaring from beer sales here! and im a big contributor. been stucco patching(chasing cracks) for over 3 weeks now. got a hell of a tan. monday we paint house/ 3 outbuildings/and lots of block wall sq. footage, that has gone 14 years with out painting. monsoon moisture starting to happen over gila wilderness new mexico. that means our monsoon probably will be on time this year around july 4th or so. yes we are trying to beat the weather and get the painting done before storms hit. $70 bucks a 5 gallon pail dunn edwards travertine tan paint was the good buddy discount. so far we have installed a new rear door with internal sliding shutters (too cool) and a security screen door w/deadbolts. 3 guys 10 hrs just to get in place. giant PITA. got all the trim work and caulking done last night. today we play with 220amp service replacing an old old old ROPER junk OFFEN(wolfgang pucks oven) with a brand new kitchenaid convection OFFEN. at least thats inside and not in direct heat. the only way anything gets done at any speed is beginning at 430am and the steam generally runs out about 12 noon because of the heat. |

Running the a/c in my office. I normally don't. It's a comfortable 70 in here right now.
Yesterday it was 91 in here with no a/c going. Crazy. I went into Home Depot the other day and was amazed - friggin' swamp coolers (evaporative coolers) were about 1.5X more expensive than full-on air conditioners! WTF?

Swamp coolers won't do any good when there is humidity present, but if it's AZ. or NM-type heat they work great.

So if it's the hottest June on record all over the world, with catastrophic floods and other "weather events" destroying crops and whole towns, climate change is still not happening? Just want to make sure I've got it right.
