Wayne,
I'm just sorry that one jerk had to cause you this distress. Please accept my apologies on behalf of "snowman" and thanks again for this valuable resource!

Por_sha911 07-16-2008 04:53 PM

Although I'm familiar with this particular fellow, it seems reasonable to ban someone for "biting the hand that feeds you" (or in this case, pays for the BB).
On a side note, if Snow can get us parts this year at the year 2000 price, I want to talk with him about a large list of things that are NLA since then. It would be worth a trip in a Ryder truck to buy from him!

Somehow, the cure smells even worse than the disease did.

cgarr 07-16-2008 05:35 PM

Has anyone really ever met him? Just curious, a lot of people hide behind the keyboard, or are really different when you look them in the eye! I had a gal who I always talked to on the phone who really sounded hot but years later when I finally met her, well lets just say it was nothing like I had pictured.

Why would someone want to meet him if he is an ********* on PPOT, I'm tired of hearing that excuse.

I am a 180 degrees away from Bill Clinton but I still would love to sit down and have a beer with him.

There are many of us here that make it a rule to behave in OT the way we would in real life. I for one am pretty much the same person in real life as I am online, I think.

I try not to type anything I would not say in person. I try not to be rude, I try not to degrade people for their differing opinions, beliefs or lifestyles and I do not judge those that do. Its worked out pretty good for me I have made a lot of really really cool friends from Pelican.

Some will ban you for mentioning a competitor to the sponsor. Some will play favorites and ban people for violating forum rules, but not ban the people who taunted that person--who also broke forum rules.

sounds like high school

That's fine for you, I have no use for people who have two different persona's, one or both are clearly fake. As for Bill C or Hill, I wouldn't cross the street to piss on their lawn. I have no use for folks like that. You want to meet them, fine. Life is way too short to spend any time with *********s.

Just a matter of opinion I guess. I spent 35 years in sales and spent way too much time with worthless people but was paid well to do it. Now that it's my call, no way.

I behave here as I would in real life but I don't kiss someone's a$$ or call them dickhead just to get attention. A lot of that goes on here and I have no use for it. There are some folks here I would love to meet and get to know but there are also some that I have no interest in meeting because they are idiots here and just try to be idiots on purpose, why would someone want to meet someone like that.

Well said rattlsnak, there wasn't even a blip on my radar that someone with hair on fire was among us. Ok, I tuned him out along time ago, and I hope some of you have done the same to me.

VaSteve 07-16-2008 07:44 PM

He was the only current poster on my ignore list. Sorry I missed the fun :(

futuresoptions 07-16-2008 07:49 PM

IMHO... I think that the post should have been deleted and Snowman should have been banned for a month... I think a permanent expulsion may be a little too harsh for that one post (Which I am basing my opinion on) There may have been problems addressed and warnings given in the past that I am not aware of, but even Wayne himself has stated that he is not the cheapest retailer on all of his parts. I don't think most of us purchase from Pelican because of cost, I think that we order from them because you actually get to talk to someone that is familiar with the product, and when you order it, you know it is going to show up at your door and not at some topless bar two states away from you. With all that being said it is sad to see any Pelican chastised.... I mean really sometimes we all get a little raw and need a swift kick in the rear..... SmileWavy

RIP Snowman

Futures:

Are you questioning Wayne and the Mods now? :)

As you suspected in your post, this was not a single incident that led to the banishment and, IMO, the management made a reasonable decision

Best,

Negative, I was just thinking of what my punishment would have been if I was in Wayne's or the Mods position on this one incident. I figure they probably had good reason for the ban due to previous traffic, I just hate public bannings.... they seem so harsh.....:(

He deserved it and the publicity unfortunately is necc to remind others who may be close to the line that there is indeed a threshold.

If you don't want your public info posted, don't make it the very subject matter of your posts.

If you are going to brag about how brilliant you are, and how you bought your house for so cheap, and it's worth $2 million now, how it's right by the beach, etc. etc. etc., you are going to have people ready to call you on your BS.

You forget, HE was the one who posted his personal info.
