I bought a Viper today
 

As some of you know, Cindy is doing a kitchen remodel. The day the disruption begins, I'm heading out on a road trip. Cindy agrees that this is wise, since we were screaming at each other before our previous home remodel was completed.

So, for the road trip, I bought a Viper today. Screw it, I figure you only live once, and this Viper will make my road trip more enjoyable. It's blue with brown leather.

Considering gas prices and all, anybody care to guess what I paid? ;)

Hmm I can't even guess but some pics would be nice, preferably with the rear stepped out.

Bad form to step the rear out with this viper. Sorry, I'm still trying to learn how to use a digital camera, no pics. It's a new Viper...

Damn! Got caught too early. Yep, on this road trip, didn't feel I should carry my Justis case full of $$$ custom cues. So, today at the cue ball, I explained my thought to John, the counter guy...that I wanted to carry something that wouldn't be like walking through the bad side of town with a gold rolex on my wrist, but something I could play with, yet still no big loss if stolen. . I asked about Cuetek...he steered me to Viper. $55 with a cheap tube case. Still all wood, a feel I'm used to. But it sure as hell doesn't feel like my Keith Josey cue...:rolleyes:

But hey, it isn't the arrow...it's the indian.

I always like Viking for a cheap carry cue, they had some nice sticks even though they were the choice of wannabe's which sent the right signal. My tourney/favorite cue was a very nice Joss my wife got me.

Even had a chance to fiddle with a 10 pack of Cognocentis. Something about had crafted that you just can't beat.

Too bad that I suck so bad, that made in China doesn't matter ;)

Joss...and Viking...too nice to risk warpage by leaving in a car trunk, not to mention being stolen, IMHO. I do wish I could post a pic of my Keith Josey...the workmanship makes me cry, it's so pretty. I cry even more, since I've inadvertently given it a couple of dings. Damn bar tables with not enough space! Many of Keith's cues are CNC inlay work...but mine is the old style Pantograph work...points with tips as sharp as needles. Lendaddy? My back up cue is a Dave Jacoby. I must be stuck on "J". Jacoby and Josey cues, Jack Justis case. Silly as it may sound, my break cue is a cheap-oh Tiawan sneaky Pete. It's hard water buffalo tip smashes the rock and the rack.


Hey, it's all compensation of sorts...since a 911S left here. We all get our fun where we can. Bragging here, but Cindy thought she had me hooked today...I made a 3 cushion bank on a "big" ball, leaving myself a near straight in on the 8.

I may shoot lousy, but once in a while I shoot lucky...:D

Just keep shooting...you'll improve. Japanese cues? Look for an old Adams...The Lion "sticker" logo. Cindy has one of those. But she still prefers her Jacoby J-2 for playing. Cognocenti? "Eye-talian"? Never played with one...sure would love to. Also, Sugartree, Tim Scruggs, Varney, LeBow, the list goes on. Always looking for that magic arrow. Despite knowing it's the indian. My point? I shoot with cues, don't just collect them. Kinda like I used to drive cars...

After drooling over a real dodge viper, not a wooden stick with felt on the end, I always wanted to own one till I've done some track days as a passenger in a V10 viper, the P car 911 suits me just fine. Vipers are fast with tons of torque, but are way nose heavy........I like to corner like a hummingbird.
