Shiner Bock in the winter
Shiner Blonde when it's hot (which is most of the time)!

+1 on Stone IPA. I've grown to like it more than dogfishead 60, which had been my favorite. But I actually think that the dfh 90 and 120 are less bitter than the 60, which is why I don't like them as much. Hard to describe it but they are less crisp than the 60.
Other summer beer? Coors Light is refreshing for me, or Miller Lite. Bud Light invariably gives me heartburn and tastes like crap to me.

Pretty much any IPA, Sam Adams, and the occasional New Castle. MMmmm I'm getting thirsty just writing this.

Best crawl out from under the vintage German Car ? Thomas Kemper!
Other then that, Kettle One and any flavor of Sobe when it's 100+ outside and you cut the grass and are hoping in the pool!

Digging this thread out of retirement. I would have agreed with this sentiment up until 3 weeks ago when I discovered said beer shown below. Now I order a case of Marin, and drink Sierra Nevada until the Marin shows up at my local Vendome.
BTW: The accoutrement on top of the bottle was a last moment addition by my wife, accompanied by a statement that sounded something like, "be sure to tell them you'll drink anything that comes out of a nipple...you sick bastard". ![]()

Hefe - fresh from the cask when I can get it
if not, then I sometimes have to resort to bottled beer - a sad come down, but i can live with it |

There is a Texas Brewery called St. Arnold's. They make a summer beer called Lawnmower. It is nice and crisp, very refreshing after...using the lawnmower!

Snoqualmie Summer Brew. One of the best beers around, and brewed about 15 miles from my house. Delish.

Lately, it's been Big Sky "Moose Drool" & "Trout Slayer."
Or, local favorite: Four Peaks "Kilt Lifter." I still miss Mac & Jack's though! Last edited by Eric Coffey; 10-16-2008 at 05:11 PM.. |

Those craft beers are fine for those hipsters out there that need to make a statement. Craft beers may be fine for some. I have found that Budweiser has that full flavor I prefer and is remarkably consistent. I remember when Coors was popular via the movie Smoky and the Bandit. Are you kidding me? The regular beer tasted like a watered down woman's beer. The light version is akin to drinking water.
You can sit around discussing the aroma of a particular wine, a verse of poetry, or something special you find about a particular craft beer that makes you feel cool and special. I won't be there. I am neither. I am boring and plain. I like Budweiser. It is a full flavored man's beer. It get's my vote year 'round.

anything made by yuengling. love their porter. ice cold rolling rock is pretty good as a thirst quencher. saranac brewery is local and offers a variety of good beers. |

hefe's aren't limp wristed at all. very neat beers particularly suited to warm weather. not a fan of the lime flavored beers out now (why do you need that in a hefe???).
porters and ipa's i can't do though.

Sam Adams Octoberfest is tasting really good right now, I will always take a Guinness especially at end of day with a Partagas Black Label!!!!! ps. a good Belgian white ale really hits the spot on a hot day too.
