Good luck guys. Looks like even KS will get some serious rain out of Ike. I'm preparing to evacuate now.

Better to leave earlier than later - and the worst place to be is on the right side of the storm.

On my way to work this morning - so if it [IKE] can cause high tides here like this - you really need to be careful of storm surge where you are BRPorsche...

Edited out of a desire to avoid being a part of the petty bickering I see in OT these days.

High tides here as well 4 ft over normal and just happens to be high tide now. Getting windy and looking to just be a real crappy day here.
You guys in Houston should have already been gone. Porsches don't float.

I am about to head to my house. Will take some pics of the water behind my casa. The dock by my house should be under water.

Congratulations, Jellisky, on your student endeavors. The problem in your post is that you are applying the wrong standards of proof for policy formulation.

In fact, ALL proposed fixes for climate change also make sense to reduce conventional pollutants, provide more efficient and lower cost transport and heating or cooling bills for consumers AND to reduce our reliance on energy sources from swaggering dictators who don't like us very much. That of course, is beyond the bias in the standards involved.

You have also completely misrepresented my position, but that is another matter.
