I Can't Believed No One Helped - Hammer Attack

They show the whole attack on video. You can see everyone get up and move away. Nobody did a thing to help. The City of Brotherly Love. Around here he either would have had the hammer taken away and used on him or he would have been shot by someone with a CCW.

From the snippet I heard, he has been caught. He had his 6 year old son with him??? Bizarre!

A POS with rape, assault, drug ...etc. charges going way back.

Bullet to the head ...next!

________

Edit : I believe the airhead female on NBC asked the police chief why they would release such a violent video? Think of the children!! LMAO.

I remember studying this phenomenon in a college psychology class. It seems the more people who are around, the more likely this is to happen. Everyone thinks someone else will do something, so they sit back and watch/wait. Many years ago there was a famous case of a woman being assaulted and killed in an apartment courtyard (slowly), and nobody even called the cops. They all watched thinking someone else would act.

You are more likely to have someone stop and help you on the side of a lonely road than on the side of a busy freeway. Same thing. Everyone assumes someone else will do something.

Generally the advice from police is "don't get involved". IMO, this kind of reaction isn't the result of sissies or people afraid for their own well-being, it's the result of living in a world ruled by lawyers.

But what strikes me (ooh, bad pun) as really odd is the transit staff worker backing away. It should be their job to stop these kinds of things.

Where did you read/hear this? I didn't see it in the news article.

Just one thing to consider, that some of us talked about after the Greyhound beheading a few weeks ago. Everyone said the guy was a sicko, freak, should be shot, etc. but someone brought up a good point. We don't know anything about the perpetrator - for all we know, the guy he attacked may have raped and killed his sister or daughter. If someone did that to someone in my family, I'd probably cut the f@#ker's head off or beat him with a hammer, too. Though I certainly wouldn't do it with my kid around.

The other issue is that if you hesitate for a half-second to see what is going, you will hesitate for another half-second to see if it is over.

It's just human nature and there's nothing new about it.

No one on the scene had a plan for what to do if another passenger was attacked by a crazy with a hammer, if they did perhaps it would have worked out differently.

Of course then you need plans for the hammer, or what if it was just a shove, or what if it was a chainsaw, or what if they were arguing first or what if it was a hot chick doing the attacking or what if you thought the guy deserved maybe a little bit of it or what if you yourself are allergic to a hammer striking your personal skull.

I don't agree with what you said about the "American attitude", it reflects the "non-redneck attitude".

That kinda stuff NEVER happens! No one goes to help someone in need and ends up stabbed/shot/hammered themselves!

Just as no one ever freezes up when they see a freaking hammer going into someone's skull, or hear someone being decapitated in a dark, stuffy, enclosed Greyhound bus. No, that kinda stuff would only freeze up the real wimps.

They were interviewing the Police Chief. Perhaps he mis-spoke?

Maybe the guy just had a new hammer and the other fellows' head resembled a nail? Test drive?

In other news, today nazi Pelosi introduced a bill mandating the registration of all hammers.

She said in an interview on MSNBC, "This is just the first step to eliminating this kind of horrific violence. We will make it harder to get these dangerous hammers. I envision a world where we don't have hammers, we don't have companies selling cheaply made hammers that are designed only for one reason, to strike a blow. I will do everything in my power to make sure that no one ever has to face an attack with a hammer again, and the only way to do that is to get rid of all the hammers once in for all".

Bob villa, a representative for the National Hammer Association (NHA) denounced Pelosi's bill as just another stupid liberal attack on a piece of hardware and completely ignores the real problem, people who want to hurt and kill other people. Hammers don't kill people, people do.

The ACLU meanwhile, filed suit against the city operated transit district for $500 million. The suit claims the city is responsible for making sure their passengers can ride in a hammer-free environment.

In related news, the beating victim's cellphone was stolen after the attack and sold on the street.

it would be hard to go after some crazed, retard strength idiot swinging a hammer. i would shoot him, without hesitation. i think if one person jumped in, others would have mobbed him in backup. the hard part is for the first person to commit.

good i am far from a redneck..it disgusts me how people have a me first and to hell with others attitude. most people are so afraid of their neighbors as to be ashamed, pathetic. When i see someone in need, i stop and help..it is the right thing to do. People forget that if that they were in that position, they'd want others to help..empathy, the lost american psychological trait. we are all raised to be psychopaths(by definition, they lack empathy towards fellow man)
sad world we live in these days
