Garage Shoe

I'm interested to know what garage shoe you folks have found to be real good from a functional and comfort standpoint. I was getting ready to order the Mechanix G model until the only review comments said it was extemely uncomfortable.

I use a pair of "earth shoes" that my dad bought about 8 years before my birth.

I have to admit, I never knew there were specific "garage shoes".

I guess I've learned my "one thing" for the day.

I wear a sling back open toed pump in the summer and something a bit more "sensible" in the winter, although I'm thinking of switching to a stilleto heel to help reach for those items higher up on the shelf.

Oh, and FYI, nothing says "springtime" like a nice, fun pair of espadrilles.

Mine are tradition... I have a couple of clothing items that are exclusively for garage use, as being seen in them in any other context would be embarrassing. The earth shoes fall into this category; they have soaked up gallons of who knows what, and nicely compliment the designated "hot weather" garage shorts with the added battery acid ventilation and the nylon t-shirt with hypoid stains on the back and 38 Buick engine green on the front.

Please, do show. And it doesn't have to be you! But the legs better be awesome.

On a serious note, if your garage floor is cold, you need real work shoes. I switch from Red Wings to New B.

I am on probably my 6th pair of New Balance tennis shoes. It is getting harder and harder to find mostly white non-ghetto looking tennis shoes. I usually have three active pairs... Clean nice ones, shop shoes and finally a pair to wear when painting. My wife is always trying to get me to throw them out and is embarrased when company visits and I stroll in from the shop wearing my "shop" or "paint" shoes.

i can say that flip-flops and grinders dont mix. so that would be one for what i dont wear in the garage

I am more of a Nike running shoe guy. So when they get worn out, the double as yard work and garage shoes.

I would say the same shoes I wear in the shop all day. These are real jems, soaked in the fluid of the day. My wife hates them. I wear running shoes to work, I have found that they are the best thing for standing on concrete for 10-12 hours a day. I can however, and have been known to go into my garage with no shoes on. I am very picky about keeping my garage clean. I save the trashing of the garage for the one I make money in. Makes me look very productive.

I have never heard of a garage shoe. But, I have to admit, this thread made me curious. After checking them out, I'll stick with my old New Balance shoes.
