Don't recall seeing any white clay or tile roofs. Most tend to be a red clay / saltillo color. I suppose because you mainly see tile roofs on spanish / mediterranean style houses??

White tile roofs in FL get mildewy, too. The get repainted or at least pressure washed every so often. The paint we used was the white elastomeric stuff.

Very popular in Austria, government mandated I think.
