NFL officials steal a game from the San Diego Chargers.
Unbelievable!
First, they rule that the Chargers fumble. The Broncos go on to score a TD. Replay shows there was NO fumble, but the play can't be reviewed because the replay booth is BROKEN. WTF? Next, with only seconds remaining the Broncos fumble on the Chargers 10 yard line. Chargers recover. BUT WAIT! Umpire Ed Hochuli blew his whistle. Incomplete pass? WTF? Broncos keep the ball, score, and inconceivably...win?

Yeah, definitely a blown call, but the ref got it right at the end.
He blew the whistle, the play was dead at that point. Yes, he blew the call on the Cutler fumble but once the whistle blows the play is over. That's football for you.

At least you aren't a Raider fan. I've been kicked in the nuts for two decades.

I've been a Raider fan all my life. I thought this stuff only happened to the Raiders.

Well, it was in Denver, maybe Hoculi had a flashback.
I will say, San Diego STILL had the chance to ice the game. Just stuff the two point conversion.

No matter how bad you think you have it, Lions fans have it worse. They were up 1 with like 7 min remaining when they completely stopped playing (well just Kitna on O, but that was enough). They have just 1 playoff win in decades. I pretty much expect them to lose how they lost today, where they come back to make it close and then just let the other team win.
Those were bad calls, but the rules were at least followed properly. It was gutsy that Denver went for 2 after the TD. It was a well played game. Unfortunately, 1 team always has to lose. |

That first call was unbelievable.
With LT in that game, the Donkeys get killed. |

Tuck rule.
![]() Sour grapes. Sheesh. The Raiders are something like - what - 14 and 61 since 2001? I don't think it would've made much of a difference.

The Broncos have a horse in their emblem and outrageous calls go in their favor. Coincidence?

The inappropriate application of the "Tuck Rule" by Walt Coleman cost the Raiders a Superbowl berth. That year the Patriots beat a pathetic Rams team. In all likelihood, Walt Coleman cost the Raiders a Superbowl Championship.

No, the worst Raider moment ever was when Bo Jackson went down against the G%^&* D$#@$# Bengals.

Bo Jackson fielding a punt was the most amazing sports moment of my life. WOW! He made Jerry Rice look like Ryan Leaf...

Brady had two hands on the ball, and it was fully brought back in (or tucked, whatever) when Woodson hit him and knocked it loose. Not in the process of bringing it back down. That's clear on video. There was absolutely no irrefutable evidence on video to overturn. Without such, there s/b no overturn, in which case there would have been ZERO controversy. Everyone in the stadium knew the game was over. I wouldn't still lament over it had the Raiders needed to do more after the fumble recovery to win. But with that recovery, the game was over.

I don't think this will ever be over. I still hear Florida fans griping about the same type of call from two years ago versus Auburn. Yeah, the Alabama team without an offense as seen on TV Saturday night . . .

I'm no Charger fan, but it just sucks when the outcome is altered by a referee's f/u. Now if the ball bounced around for awhile, and some players didn't pursue it because of the whistle, that's another story. But in this case...it just sucks.

The Chargers still had a chance to win the game, however. They could have stopped the 2 point conversion and won, but they were unable.
And nobody's perfect. Anyone remember the ref that f$*ked up the coin toss during the Steelers/Lions game on Tgiving about 6 years ago? Can't get much dumber than that.

The Chargers are overrated. They'll go to the playoffs and be out in the first round most likely.
