Still at 600lbs... I doubt all the girls at Hooters together could pick it up if it fell over!

True enough, I'm just pointing out that it's more than a bit slothish in the performance department. This tends to keep testosterone away.

Update - just bought some new pipes off of Craigslist. Picking up a new seat tomorrow. Most of the rust is gone. Surprisingly, the battery box, which was in the worst condition, polished right up!

I've got some new (used) mirrors which I'll put on tonight. I S100'd parts of the bike. That stuff really works! I'll post some more pictures tomorrow. Pretty happy with the way it's cleaning up.

As far as performance, i have the V65 when I want to go fast (that thing is scary!). The Sportster is like a gateway bike to a bigger V-twin. I resisted the Harley for a long time and many miles (70,000 on the V65 before this one). I'm going to give them another look.

40 HP? Really? How much can you crank that up with hot rod parts?

I would love to have one with the flat track parts someone posted earlier (orange paint and black hi-pipes).

Of course you would expect that from a guy who used to go to Ascot raceway.

Ascot? Jay Springsteen!

A Screaming Eagle or S&S carb can make a very noticable difference. Toss some mild cams in and pick up another 15-20 hp. My 1200 is putting out about 70hp.
I have buddies with Sportsters over a 100hp

I taught my wife how to pick up my 600 lb Kawi Concours. She's 5'0" and at the time she was 95#.

Granted, she has never worked at Hooters.
