I'm glad for you that you had those experiences. Connecting with the people we love isn't easy, we take what we can get. Outside of the human to human connection, the hunting experience is a valuable one. As a society we are too far removed from the source of our food, and a little hunting helps us understand that for us to live something else has to die. I haven't hunted or killed an animal for food in decades, but I used to and I still understand it. Everyone should.

So much about hunting some will never know. I was able to harvest a 130lb doe w/bow this year and have been fortunate to spend a first time camp hunt this year in Maine. My dad didn't do crap with us kids, but my girls will know how to shoot a gun and bow!!!

Hey Moe, sorry I didn't catch up with you guys this trip but was coming back from Europe (wild boar hunting for a day !! ) flew home yesterday ... Glad to hear you filled the freezer. How many turkeys did you get ?

Our 9 year old daughter has gone with us the last two years. She was with dad when he got a nice sized buck this year and helped field dress my deer. Got her feet soaked crossing a creek, tired and hungry from all the walking and can't wait to go again next year. I think our son will be just as enthused but I don't know if dad will still be able to hunt when he is old enough.
