Ahh..looks like a false alarm, sorry. When I first read about it, the story was that they were closing. This is quite awhile ago. Now I just read that they're only closing the one location, and opening another.

A new low for PPOT.

If you like beer, then Goose Island (North/Clyborn ish) is a great destination. Brewers from all over the US go there to learn how its done...

If you are a woman, then scratch that suggestion and drink a bloo moon (extend that pinkie). Otherwise, step up to the bar and sample a few of these...

Dunno why you would go to a chain steak house (i.e. Ruth Chris) visiting Chicago. Gibson's is walking distance from your hotel and a no brainer for 'the experience'.

Another vote for Pizzaria Uno as good bet for your pizza fix. Deep dish sausage is the call.

If you like Goose Island beer, then it stands to reason that you like Pizzeria Uno - they are both tasteless and over-rated.

"How it's done" - LoL! That's a good one!

Not the Goat. Over rated greasy spoon place, made famous by James Bulushi on SNL. Tourist trap, you won't enjoy the meal if you kids are use to eating continental cusine.

Downtown Michigan Avenue is very cool.

Dining:

Greektown: Santorni - if you like seafood, you won't be disappointed
Steak: Phil Stefanis 937 Rush Street - Italian steak house. Gene and Georgetti's on Franklin street - old school steak house.
Italian: Volare on St. Clair - great Italian food.

Restaurants with a view:

Nomi on Michigan avenue. A liitle pricey but the view is fantastic. Can't do a dinner, lunch is very good

Stay away from the Tourist traps. Navy Pier - pricey not worth it IMO.

Museums are excellent
Blue man group is cool if you have never seen it before.
If you don't have allot of time, stay somewhere close on Michigan Ave and either cab or walk it to where you want to go.

Have a good time
