Well, I was looking for a pic of it after that pesky Palm tree got in the way but no luck. After six months in my garage I think it looks much better.
Before it said hi to a Palm tree at 40 MPH http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230482106.jpg During the transformation to triple Black http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230482267.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230482414.jpg After it took third at Emory's http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230482570.jpg |

Holy Cow! That's quite a transformation! Is that Arctiksblau? Euro bumpers and lowering would be killer on that car. My 72 before - http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/7964/floor1hg9.jpg after- http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/1938/floor2nv7.jpg Restored a number of 2002s including an Arctiksblau 76 that looked similar to yours. |

Thom, which car is that?
On a side note, I found a cool VW brochure from the late 50's on the Transporter. There is a section on the ambulance version. I can scan it for you if you want. Bill |
Me last Christmas, 270 pounds. At the time, recently diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia. Told to shape up or else.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230526038.jpg Me, as I appear today, 180 pounds. Ticker working fine. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230526189.jpg |
90 flippin pounds!
Bravo! |
Yeah, a big congratulations to you. Very few are able to do that.

It was my first big project. I was right out of high school. In hind sight there are a lot of things I would have done differently (including euro bumpers and a lower ride). If memory serves me, the color is a later BMW color called Royal Blau metallic or something like that. It sort of shifted between a purple in the sun to a deep blue at night. Here's a couple of other 'before and after' (you can see the original color behind the dash in the first picture): http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230532723.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1230532745.jpg Tim K p.s. I should say, the car is long gone or else I'd check out the paint code for you. |
Absolutely great restoration pics guys! Love them, lots of talent on here!!
And a huge Congrats Big Ed! I lost 35lbs and it was a process, so I cannot imagine 270! I bow my head. Regards - Yasin |

Oh damn Thom, what are you plans for that one? Want to sell it?
I won't be in my office until next week, but I will take some pictures of it for you. |
