VroomGirl,

Thanks for starting this thread - It one of the most entertaining I've seen in awhile.

It's got all the essential elements - Porsche as some sort of Enzyte, a chance to insult the drivers of rice burners, new Mustangs, and especially BMW's, a cranky oldster ("...well, in my day we discussed this many times before... while walking 10 miles to school, in a snowstorm, uphill both ways..." - think Walter Brennan accent), some sentimentalism (the old bike riders fist bumping is classic tear-inducing melodrama), and some generally entertaining posts.....

You stated in a previous post that you didn't have a great year, except for your 911 - here's hoping 2009 is a whole lot better. (It has to be, you've got a 911 now).

p.s.
My apologies for any inadvertent sexism in my comments referring to "car guys". I'm sure there are car gals out there, and you certainly seem to be one, but in my experience they are a rare, exotic, and endangered species.

I'm not so touchy about inadvertent sexism around here (or anywhere, much) - note my signature line! But I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

And I'm with you hoping 2009 will be better - definitely improved immeasurably already with my 911 ready to whisk me away. I'm already plotting my New Year's Day drive - thinking Talladega Scenic Highway.......

As for this thread, boy, you just never know where things are gonna go! I've enjoyed it, glad you have, too. That stupid website I noted in the first post is one of my new favorites!

I got tired of hanging around some number of porcupine quills...sold the car to somebody with the right stuff, values wise.

Milt is right....this has been done...many times.

Yes... but we must keep doing it... until we get it RIGHT... Blame the ugly duckling... THEY just won't leave US alone... 19 posts or 19,000... surrounded by incompetents and wankers... You know who you are...

Try owning a porsche at 17. Ya its "just" a 944 and sure it was less than 5k and I do basically all of my own maintenance but I still get brat and spoiled comments when people see the badge. I'm like you A** it cost less than your pickup.
