Congratulations! That's awesome! A place with a garage is a real boon.

We just signed a contract on our own house here, so I know the excitement. I'll post a thread when it becomes a little more solid.

Congrats that's a nice house and I like the garage setup a lot! I have a house about 5 hours from where you are! SmileWavy

Congratulations! That is a big step. I remember my first house like it was yesterday. 26' square with 2 stories. A city house on a little lane, no parking, but a little yard on the side. It was grand and all mine!! It had 2 bedrooms and bath up, and a kitchen, living room and dining room down, over a stone walled basement. The peak of the roof was 42' straight up (I know because I hung on that ladder with a paintbrush tied to a broomstick to paint the peak). Good luck!

Where's that Axeman?
5 hours can be a long way depending on the car & resolve of the driver

spent a busy week finding and scoring the place, and now i have a busy week ahead of me, sorting out a lot of details, and crap with the bank and notary and what not...

stoked about this... 6 years in a crummy appartment, then 1.5 in the current house rental, which was nice, but impractical
(to much garden, to little garage, to cold in winter time, not my own)

Now i'll have a real place, with real possibilities, and very little drawbacks, almost tailored to my needs and future needs.

now for the fun stuff, as i am getting hammered now on heavy beer, and i am not used to drinking much these days

Things i will need :
Stripper pole, you got that right Jim!
Car lift
gun rack
bigger beer fridge
build a bbq

I'll also need a name for the thing, and don't come with no fairy stuff like 'songbird' , or 'shangri fekking la'

I name my cat's with names from bad/cool characters in movies, (Bubba Zanetti & Boris the Blade)

need to beer on tis a bit more... stand by

that actually sounds a bit like my first house ( i briefly had a place before moving to holland)
But it was a clusterf#ck, as i did not had time to renovate as i worked with a 300km commute, and still partied a lot... so i did not get anywhere...and ended up dumping the place unfinished, just to get rid of it while working in Holland (had trouble finding suitable work in 01 as i was still fresh, and there was that .com bubble which had tanked... also the lack of outside bugged me

This was one of the main reasons for picking this one, as it does not need renovating...has the garden, and the garage.. its' the opposite of my first house... probably because this time i actually took time to figure out what i need/want, and because i'm a bit smarter now... just a bit, not much...

You know us Americans could really give a rat's ass about what houses you own.

That looks nice, I hope the cat can still catch enough birds to survive!

Congrats to you! Very nice.

I wouldn't add a hallway, waste of space?
How is under the stairs utilized?

Great Bach Pad, you'll be styling!

Congrats! I too bought a house just by looking at the garage.. I didn't care about the house cause as long as the wife is happy and I'm happy we're a happy family!
But I sold it and have a tiny garage in this house.. :(

Congrats! Your house is your home. Enjoy.

slodave 01-10-2009 01:19 AM

Congrats on the house!

Great Stijn! Congratulations!

I will need to come down there and help you paint the walls. How does light green background with pink elephants strike you? Maybe a Porsche stripe along the inner roof line! :)

svandamme 01-10-2009 03:22 AM

right, it would appear that i'm like a bit hungover, damn the monks at Grimbergen.

Thx Livi, i knew i could count on you, however, i need to make good on my promise to pimp your carrera first,
it's only right that i bling it up with flames and spinners before you come over, wouldn't want to see you make that drive out of style.

livi 01-10-2009 03:35 AM

Sound like a good deal, Stijn. Perhaps a simultaneous project? I drive my Carrera to you and we could really pimp-bling away both car and house during a healthy volume of beer.

svandamme 01-10-2009 03:45 AM

not a bad idea... Since now i actually have the room to work properly, there's no limits... East Coast Customs... they are last years news !
