i was working in burbank a few months ago. saw a girl walking down the sidewalk smoking a cigarette. two cops stopped her and wrote her a ticket.

compared to that, my death hole neighborhood doesn't seem so bad.


isn't there some 15-20 pattern to big quakes here? the city is about due.

Yep. Burbank is virtually smoke free. If the cops see you smoking less than fifty feet beside any structure, you're toast. This includes the sidewalk. And forget about parks. Only allowable place to smoke is in the middle of a parking lot, or your own car.
