This one is electric, so that would be: I would drive a plug-in .

Simply stunning. Thanks for posting.

Why couldn't they have let Alois design the Panamera?

If I could have one cheap without the electric motor and batteries, I would "simply" transplant my 3.0L aircooled flatsix in it...

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/04/geneva-2009-ruf-greenster-evolves-the-electric-porsche-concept/

"The Greenster is a targa top 911 in the old style with a chopped speedster-type windshield. In the back sits a 270kW Siemens electric motor with 695 lb-ft of torque. The battery pack system has been improved and is now 30% smaller in volume, restoring the front trunk space that was lost on the original. The battery pack also has greater power capacity allowing it to release and absorb power faster, enabling more regenerative braking capacity. The battery can apparently be charged in only one hour from a 400V outlet. The next iteration will switch to a twin motor setup and the company is planning a small series production run in 2010."

Thumbs up

Uber Brilliant!

I'd take one of those over the Tesla any day!

Are those torque numbers for real

400V recharging in one hour? Who has a 400V outlet in the states?

I do believe this is a sign of what is to come for the next generation of hi-performance gear heads....

Bravo to Ruf for this car. It's stunning, it's progressive, and I bet it's a hell of a performer. If he could figure out a way to mass-produce them and make them REASONABLY affordable - or, at least, make some kind of affordable version - I think he would have a major hit on his hands.

That's 2 250V phases of a 3 phase supply, IIRC. I was surprised to find a 250V outlet in the garage, but they're apparently not that uncommon.

Heh. You guys are lucky. I read somewhere that Edison pushed really, really hard for a DC grid...

I would drive this plug-in.

What a stunner!

In fact, let's see those curves again...

Hell, I'd sit in the cockpit and make my own engine sounds if I could drive that baby!
