The Kid has a party when I'm gone and I've got spilled beer on the Targa
Went to Carpenteria to go camping for the weekend. The 20 y/o asks if he can have a few friends over. I say sure. Apparently about 25 kids came over they slept here which is better than driving home after a party. I find this sticky stuff next to the left rear wheel and sticky stuff on the Carrera tail and inside the engine compartment. It's beer. Some douche bag was using my tail for a friggin table to set his beer down and apparently knocked it over! Talked to the kid and he says "Oh, sorry about that Dad".
"Sorry Dad?". WTF, I'd like to think when I was a kid if I did that to my Dad's XK120 that I'd at least offer to wash the car and detail the engine compartment and clean the crap off the garage floor. I told him so as well, and he just sort of grunted.

you are now officially his bi%ch.
Just sayin. When I was a teen I had a habit of running out of gas. Dad always came to help me. Once it was damn near the middle of the night. When he showed up he was quite angry but he didn't hit me. I deserved it. The fact that I know I came close to getting creamed - I never ran out of gas again.

Tell him to detail the hell out of your car or lose his. I'm willing to bet you can find some leverage somewhere.

I caught up with him as he was going to work. I'll let him think about it and "discuss" when he gets home.

Actually, they cleaned up the house really well, and I only found 2-3 butts in the driveway and backyard. They even got smart and took the empties away. My very large spa needed lots of filtering and chlorine though. As a precaution, we changed our bedroom sheets when we got home!

Everyone slept there, no one drove home. The house is clean. There is no damage. All there is is a little bit of beer spilt on the outside of your car and part of the engine bay.
I understand that you feel that someone disrespected you by not respecting your property but chances are that your son didn't know about it and had nothing to do about it. All I am saying is that it's really not that bad, just tell his dumb ass to clean it.....if you trust him to be in your engine bay. |

I've had friends over when my parents were out of town.
That being said, I would have slapped the f out of anyone who used the M3 as a table. When you guys here from me again I will be legal. Headed to the bars in 45 mins.

Another potentially Great thread rendered totally useless by the absence of pictorial content.

As far as trusting him to be in my engine compartment, yes, very much, he helped me pull the engine in it and helped me rebuild my Aston Martin DB4, before I sold it a year or so ago. Edit: Kid came home from work and said "Dad, I don't know what I was thinking, I was rushed to get to work. I'd definitely like to wash your car, clean the engine compartment, and clean the garage floor" He also said he would have ***** slapped anyone if he'd seen them parking a beer on my car.

He sounds a great kid. If he ever comes over this way he can spill some beer on my car with me.

He's an Eagle Scout. I KNOW he doesn't use drugs (pre-employment testing) and drinks very, very little. Between him and his sister who is on partner track with the accounting firm KPMG at 23 y/o, who is looking to buy her first house, I think I raised two pretty good kids.

Hey Hugh, count your blessings; probably not perfect, but sounds like a great kid.
I'm not sure how I would react to the breech of the 10' rule? You stay 10' away from my car at all times and we wont have any issues That being said, I better remember to hide the keys the next time we go away; ha.

Doesn't sound like a good kid to me...sounds like a GREAT kid.
Hey....at least he asked if he could have friends over first. Mine don't ask permission. Hell....they don't even ask forgiveness ![]() I'm still waiting for them to replace my 4+ cases of beer that disappeared while wife and I were out of town.
