My new to me duck/fishing boat
Sold my beloved TDB-14.......
![]() And bought this..... ![]() ![]() Didn't get out locally once last season with the TDB and while there is no better 1 man duck boat (not counting sneak boats) on the planet it just doesn't make a good fishing platform. The new boat is a 17' with casting decks front and rear, livewell and gun box. Haven't gps'd it yet but with the 70hp Yamaha on the back i'd guess it tops out upper 30's lightly loaded and 30+ w/ two guys, dog and hunting gear. This should get a lot more use as i can actually take the family fishing and crabbing in it. Should be a fun spring!

With that paint scheme, I'm surprised you can find it in the yard there. Guess it could fool the fish too.

Honey, I lost my boat in the yard.....
Nice, I'm jealous. I'd love to have a fishing boat.

Wow, sorry for you, but lucky for the bloke who bought the TBD 14. I can only imagine some pretty fantastic duck hunting in your area code. Get some good camo net and throw up some supports, you can "grass in" the new boat easy enough, unless you just hunt divers from rocky shores. Anyway, best of luck from one duck hunter to another, we are our own brand of crazy!

blk she came with an Avery blind that i think i can work with. will definitely miss the tdb though. i'd trade my best day duckin' here for a mediocre day shooting dove and quail down your way.

Berretafan,
Dove and quail are a blast no doubt, just really different. In Central and South Texas dove hunts, usually pushing a 100 degrees, sweating your butt off and watching for rattlesnakes. Quail a little better as the season is later, but hit or miss rains greatly affect the quail population and leases are so expensive, it puts it beyond reach of most. Ducks on the other hand,,,,,well, shallow water, nasty weather, Have had some fanstastic hunts on public land, just not that many other crazies to go out in good waterfowl conditions. Mike

Get that new boat out more this season! I got my bass boat back from being serviced (an alarm issue that was beyond my DIY skills) today, and I'm ready to be "gone fishin'
". Nice boat...both of 'em!
