Tax evasion and a few issues with getting consent from the girls to be on camera. In a business sense he's made quite the accomplishment, otherwise the guy is scum.

Joe Francis...a total douchebag.
I ordered GGW in college and promptly cancelled after the first delivery--guess what, the next month another tape delivered, along with a charge to my CC, called again and confrimed cancellation again..next month, same thing tape and charge--called cc company and disputed with them--they cancelled it. I guess francis figured guys would be too embarrased to call their cc comapnies and cancel the charges. Received a notice to participate in a class-action settlement a couple months ago regarding GGW and Francis--I don't have the 10-year old paperwork to validate the charges though. I would punch him square in the mouth if I ever saw him in public.

I never ordered or actually seen anything other than the commercials. I hate those things. I was hanging out with a bunch of buds at a restaurant and he just came up to us alone, and started hanging out with us. People were drawn to him really quickly and he started flirting with everyone's girl. The girls flirted back just as hard which was so out of line that I couldn't believe these guys had any self respect. I found out later in the night that he was looking for COCAINE. I'm sure he found it too.
