I don't see the need for a 4-door. A 2 plus 2 with real rear seating and longer doors would have been acceptable to me. I don't see 4 passengers in touring car anyway. They have too much stuff unless they are just going out to dinner.
4 doors? Buy a Cayenne. |

Well, I like is
but it still isn't as cool as the 911 S 2.2 4-door by Troutman

Looks like the hunchback of Stuttgard

Had they kept the roofline sweeping downwards, as in this photoshop, I think it would have been much more attractive. The actual design has a bit of a hunchback look to it.
I can understand the thought process for owning one. "Sure it's a little ugly, but I'll get used to it. It's a blast to drive." Then you see this: ![]() Or this: ![]() Or this: ![]() You could also look at a CLS AMG, or a number of other 4 door sedans that manage to be both attractive and a blast to drive. Oh, and most are much cheaper than the Panamera to boot.

From a lot of angles it resembles a Cayenne more than a 911. I'm kinda on the fence about it. I'm sure it would be great as a daily driver, to those with pockets deep enough to afford that, but I mean come on, the engine is in the wrong place, it has 2 too many cylinders, that silly water cooling, and I don't think you can even get it in a standard manual yet.

Can't argue the point Matt. This will be another in a sea of many. But I do kinda like it, and if they build it well enough, I think they will sell better than some others.

I just wonder if they've priced themselves out of the game. They're playing in the same league as the Aston Martin and Maserati, companies that very well may carry more prestige. From a performance standpoint you can get competing cars with equal performance for much less money. The Jaguar XFR and BMW M5 are only about $75k, and each has over 500 HP.

If I wanted a four door, I'd look for a '56 Buick Roadmaster...it weighs less than the new Porsche offering.

Every angle shown looks great except the side profile where the rear roof hump just doesn't flow right designed to accommodate rear passenger head room. If they had shaved just 2 inches, it would have made a difference. That said, I would not kick the vehicle out of bed for eating crackers.. I say a chunky Teutonic look, I think?

So many here just don't get that this is NOT, in any way, supposed to be a 911 replacement.
"Sports car" what!? Clearly the car manufacturer "Porsche" wants to compete with Mercedes, Maserati... Looks like they've a winner.
