My friends call me, Top
|
Congratulations on achieving the Eagle rank ! The lessons you learned on your journey to Eagle will guide you forever.
My son earned his Eagle four years ago and it has opened many, many doors for him. It helped him secure an excellent university, scholarships, and even his internship with a prestigious government agency. It can make a huge impact in your life.

I built a cat cage for the local no-kill animal shelter.

Most of the design was mine. I had my dad help lay out some of the stuff. Most of the material was aluminum that was about to be sent out for scrap in my dads shop.
No I never made it to a Jamboree. Did do Philmont however. |

Congrats. That's a very cool project.
To get your eagle, is it required you complete a project like that by yourself or can others get involved?

Your supposed to get member froms your troop to help out. Shows that you can develop a team to accomplish a common goal.
Congrats again man. Been awhile since I earned my eagle, and it still goes on every resume that I type up.

Quote:
There are some ranks of Boy Scouts that require a certain number of hours of community service to be performed, so it was typically no problem to get lots of younger scouts involved with your project.

Ya they look more for how you organize and lead others. I only had about 7 boys from the troop help and 3 adults from the troop plus my uncle. I would have to check my records bit I think my project came in on the 110-120 hour range

Awesome! You should be very proud. I've heard Boy Scouts involvement goes a long way in admission to university and the working world. Not enough get involved, IMO.

Congrats! It takes a lot of commitment to make it that far.
I made it to Life Scout...wish I would of continued on. I was also a member of the Order of the Arrow. Do they still have that membership?
