Saw a white one for the same price on SF Bay CL also.
Definately made me think of kicking myself for being so far along on my SC project that I've probably spent half that much yet still don't have half that much car. ![]()

All that link does is put me on their main classified page but if it's a 996 GT3, that's an everyday price. They'll get cheaper. Hell of a car, though.

$40k in Benjamins stuffed in a paper bag would probably buy one somewhere from some broke-ass former paper-rich guy.

I won't argue with you on that. Seems to be more and more desperate sellers every day. I'm not talking about cars alone.

Is that a 2007 GT3RS?
If so that has to be the best buy I have ever heard since the prof left hester to his student. otherwise 996 GT3s are regularly running through auctions at under $50,000.

Wow. I have been lusting after a 993tt or something along those lines but did not realize the GT3's were coming down this rapidly. I kinda suspect the 993 would hold its value better long-term, though (?)

If I were planning to drive the car every day or even "a lot" then no question I would lean towards a 996 or 997 (or Cayman) -- preferably with a warranty -- but since that is not the case, it just makes the decision harder. A 965 (964 Turbo) is also an interesting proposition that I suspect has come down to relative affordability these days.

60k seems like the going rate for nice 6gt3s. Nothing special. All cars that are priced higher have been sitting in dealer lots for months. I've seen higher mileage (think 40-50k) examples sell for 40-50k.
I plan on getting a white one in a year or so. Hopefully depreciation accelerates when the 997.2 gt3 hits the streets.
