NASCAR team does full pitstup in NYC
Here's something you don't see every day. A full fledged NASCAR pitstop in times square...

I would love to see 10 highway patrol guys, 10 hacks and 10 Nascar guys in identical crown vics in a race around Manhattan. That would be more fun than that round and round racing..

I would love to see a Danica pitstop in Times Square.
Pedestrians getting hit and her overshooting the pit. |

Is a pitstop the most impressive part of stock car racing or what? The crowd was cheering after the burn out, not the tire change. Less tires changes; more burn outs needed.
The crowd would have cheered the loudest if Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch raced to the single pit station, then got out to duke it out. Now that's a NASCAR moment. Sherwood |

I was walking through Times Square to the office when they shut the streets down and Nascar paraded around 10 cars down Broadway. I had no idea they were there but saw all the 24 and 3 jackets and stopped to see what it was all about. I never realized there was so many rednecks in Manhattan!
They went very sloooooow but it sounded awesome with all that exhaust bouncing off the high rises. I didn't take this but stole it off of Youtube.

They commute in from Jersey? Ours come in from Palmdale/Lancaster and Riverside.

While that Nascar pit stop in times square was impressive, I have to say I have seen engines pulled from cars on the BQE in less time.

I was actually in NY that day. I wish I got to see it. That Vickers stop actually seemed slower than it looks during the race.

no doubt... F1 cars are probably the second loudest cars I've ever heard... after a top fuel drag car...
