I had a similar problem a few years ago when living in a large apartment complex. I tried to go the humane route and get the powers-that-be to have someone come out and relocate the little ba$tards...they weren't any help. They told me to 'put some ammonia down' and they would vacate the area.

Yeah right...after I got gassed a couple more times I decided to fight back...

Step 1: Find out where the skunk burrow is
Step 2: Giant Destroyer
Step 3: Have a beer on the back porch whilst breathing fresh air

(All local laws and ordinances should be checked before executing Step #2)

Hey it comes with the territory. My best shot was in tall grass at about 50yds using the iron sights on a .22. I have shot numerous possums out of the apple tree too. Had one possum in an outside trash can. Pulled it out in the high grass kicked the can over and let him take off running. Popped him right under the shoulder blade and dropped him right there.

Don't bet on it...had one in a live trap...subsonic .22 round right between the eyes.

Smelled to high heaven around here for over a week...

Might work...we used cat food in a havahart...caught the skunk when we were going for what we thought was a raccoon. Never tried the covering the trap with a tarp...if it works, I'd have relocated the poor thing.

Thats cuz your bullet went through the head into the stink. Gotta make it to where if the bullet leaves it goes into dirt.

So, you go live in the woods. You know, where animals (eg. Skunks) live, and then complain when one of them seems to wander around your house and now you want to kill it.

That's like buying a house next to a railway and then complaining the trains make a lot of noise...

I don't live in a woods, but I do live in a rural farming community that has drainage ditches along most roads. Varmints such as woodchucks, possum, coons, muskrat, rabbits, coyote and the occasional feral cat all get the same treatment around here..... always have.... always will.

You don't have to live in the woods to be plagued with skunks. I see another dead skunk in the middle of the road at least once a week on my way to work. My commute is only 8 miles. It always makes me want to sing the old song about dead skunks in the middle of the road.

Heck between my house and the state highway(1.5miles). There are times that there are 4 or 5 dead animals on the road

This morning when I went outside to get the paper it smelled rather skunk like outside. I did not see one but I sure could smell the bugger. Hopefully it was dead in the roadway somewhere.
