Dip in the pool, then a BBQ I don't want to go to.
Random firecrackers & bottlerockets all day.

Having family over today. Gonna try doing shish-ka-bobs on the grill. I have backup burgers, just in case.

I'll set off some fireworks later tonight for the kids.

Donned my red, white and blue leathers and went for a great ride through the Malibu canyons and down PCH. As I passed through Pacific Palisades, they were setting up for their parade, and I think a bunch of people must have thought I was part of it.

On our way to the national park this morning, we almost got to see who'd win in a 73E-black bear collision. We're going ~55MPH on a rural highway when the bugger leaps out of the woods thinking the oncoming purple thing was just a tasty little bug.

My S-caliper brake upgrade a couple of years ago is still paying dividends.

It's been raining here most of the day. Car show was way down. Parade went off, nice. Fireworks later--maybe. No golf---bad. Oh well, quiet day with no boomers going off. Taking a drive sunday to the river.

I watched the fireworks from here.

We came down early on the metro, ate dinner and totally relaxed. Then afterwards, instead of fighting with the crowds to get to the metro, we hung out on the mall for another hour, just sitting in our lawn chairs watching the crowds herd around. Eventually, we went to a nearby bar and had a few drinks, then caught the relatively uncrowded train home.

Nice.
