I know of a '95 Jag XJ6 VDP possibly for sale for MUCH less than your expert market analysis shows it is worth. A couple of electrical gremlins, but could be a real smokin' deal. Let me know if you are interested!

I bought mine for 3k, I shoulda suspected something was up when he ran like he!! after I handed him the $$$. Just went through my receipts and I've dumped 6400 in repairs on the stupid thing. God I'm glad I'm done with that car. I should have just leased a new one.

I think I'm gonna keep it at just the Rover and the 240 for a while.

I have no need for a stupid british car. Didn't say I would give that but you asked for a market analysis. There are exceptions to every rule.

Back to the shirts. I called the franchise owner(small town, helps to know people in the business licensing dept.) and he asked me to let them try to clean the shirt one more time and then he would replace the shirt. He indicated that it should be ready in the morning along with the missing shirt.

HH,

www.jag-lovers.org Go to the "web based forums" and start posting your problems there. Sure you can get it fixed if you want to. One of my Jag's below has 700,000 miles on it. They can be very reliable cars if done right.

Mc, Its hard to have a long and happy life when you have no front teeth. Where I live calling someone "ghey" is the same as "gay" and that almost always ends in a very short discussion. Son, you are just digging your hole deeper comparing me to that gay boy George. Are you still in high school or are you just a really, really slow learner?

Thanks, I'll check out that site, maybe there's a fix I haven't thought about. Aside from the lights, it's been a great car. I've put nearly 50,000 on it without any major engine problems and driven like a mad man for most of those miles.

I'm off to get my shirts.
As a side note: While I never would have thought to spend $150 on a shirt before, after owning a few I wouldn't hesitate at all to pick up several more. You really do get what you pay for.

Well, they're all here and the stain is gone. I got the added bonus of paying $12 per shirt including for the one they freaking lost. ( I used to pay $10 to get my class a's pressed )
I'm calling it a lesson learned and looking for a new cleaner.

I find it very difficult to find a decent dry clear these days. When I was working I had a good one for many years, did all my shirts, med starch and folded, then one day it all went to hell. Just overnight!

Now when I go to any others they send me back flimsy shirts when I ask for med starch and most all have broken buttons on the collar or front. I keep trying to find a good one, seems impossible.

When I was on active duty and living in Germany (many years ago) I had a frau who would wash and starch fatigues for $.25 a set (even put in military pleats in the shirts) and all I had to do was buy the soap and starch.

Thanks heavens I'm retired now and don't use much starch any more.

I just checked, still have all my teeth. So looks like you're wrong again. Now, who's the slow learner?

All the shirts are back and in good condition. The clerk got a little pissy with me as I inspected each one before paying.
It's not just dry cleaners, it's hard to find good service anywhere these days. I had a cashier at publix get all in a wad because she had to bag my groceries.

I've been getting broken buttons at every one we've tried. Maybe it is the cheap shirts I buy.

Dipwad above could have been nice and said that he was sorry for calling me "ghey" and it would have been over with, but now he wants to be a richard crainum. All this with 110 posts and all of a sudden he is "mr know it all" on the OT board.

Agree with you there! My last good place was the Air Force base at Tempelhof in Berlin. They knew how to starch and press a uniform but these pansy civie places these days do not have a clue. This was on base but done by local German workers using Air Force equipment.

Finally found a place here in Phoenix who does my uniforms now and they are fair. Shirts are done with "glue starch" (whatever that is) and are actually fairly good but they still cannot get the creases right. At least the starch is correct.
