Sign me up as well. This little vacation is over tomorrow.

Rick V 07-03-2011 09:03 AM

What is this vacation thing you talk about?

Porsche-poor 07-03-2011 10:16 AM

A short break from reality.

Rick V 07-03-2011 10:34 AM

Holy chit I want one of those

Noah930 07-03-2011 10:47 AM

Isn't that why you come to Pelican?

Or has this become reality for you?

Porsche-poor 07-03-2011 11:08 AM

It is way to early to answer those kind of questions.

Good afternoon guys. It is stupid hot outside. 102 or 104 depending on who you believe. It was only mid 90s when I mowed the yard this morning.

This week I took my 911 to a race shop to have it inspected for the DE I will be doing in about one month. He filled out and stamped a form with his business name that my car passed. He passed everything as OK but he wanted me to tighten up the front wheel bearings. Today I jacked up the front end of the 911 and did the "tighten up" on the wheel bearings. They are tighter then I personally like but it should keep the tech inspectors quite. I also finished up some little projects on the 911. I think I am ready for driving 1,100 miles each way with a drive at Roebling Road race track thrown in. He will drop by my house next week to make sure the wheel bearing are tight enough.

Roebling Road Raceway

I drove my 911 this afternoon in the crazy heat just to check out the AC. The dashboard was 140 degrees while driving south. The AC was doing it's best. The vent temp was 40 to 45 degrees. The AC will be tested 100% in Savannah GA in August.

I will do a final check of the AC before we head east.

You will find the AC sub par once you get the car into the humidity. Yhe heat is not the enemy but the liquid air

My 911 has the Duel Khuel system, so I have 4 condensers, an upgraded evaporator and an better receiver dryer. It does pretty darn good, but not as good as my stock El Camino.

The water just streams out of the drain hole.

I remember the days of the stock AC system on my 911, it was OK but just ok. It is way better now.

Rick V 07-03-2011 05:55 PM

Cool. (pun intended)

Porsche-poor 07-03-2011 06:07 PM
