You know, I'm not sure Merrel knew what they were insinuating when they put that label there. :D

They probably had a few cocktails in the boardroom when they decided.

Oh man.... :D

Time for that new laptop.
Why is this thing so slow. It was ok last week. :( |
You have cats? Does the fan always seem to be on at full speed, do you use it on a pillow or blanket?
|
Now what the devil! Figures. They are dragging in a patient into my office. Work, work, work..

Kicking and screaming?

You get the picture. :D

The joys of being a pediatrician. They almost all come in kicking and screaming. :)

I do use it on a pillow. Never noticed the fan. Have I cooked it? |
One guess, the cat hair and dust has plugged the heat sink, with the pillow exaggerating the issue.
Mac or Windows? |

Can I clean it out? It does work ok when its cool/ first turned on. |
With the laptop off, flip it over and locate the intake and exhaust slats. Exhaust is usually on the side of back. Get a "Can of air", the cans found at a Office Depot type store.. You can also use a regular compressor - like for "tyres", just back off from the exhaust and blow! The canned air is much safer. ;) dust and crap should come out.... Keep it off the pillow/blanket, it needs to breathe... Since you have cats, you have to clean the heat sink once and a while.

Ok.

My macbook pro has no visible vents and rarely kicks a fan on. I have to be careful about putting it on soft surfaces though, the damn thing gets HOT, and then it goes into a mode my Comp Forensics teacher described as "Liftoff" and the fan gets LOUD and it starts to cool down.
