Stay away from similar interest chicks, Sid.

Good evening guys. I am very tired Phoenix industries hose A-N fittings again. I spent another day in the garage. The intake it on, exhaust is hooked up. Oh did I mention the engine is in place. :)

It is not running yet but I am getting close! Golly gee this is fun.

nope. nor did i. although i thought it might be a possibility. that 'meat' had the color and consistency of liver, tasted like my son's diapers smell.

i've eaten everything from frog legs to raccoon to snake.... and liked them all. duck is just nasty. i'd be willing to bet that most duck hunters take their pictures and ducks end up being eaten by their dogs or thrown away. i wouldn't serve that crap to my worst enemy.

I can sympathise. My 944 is still in pieces and with the silly season upon us, I'm not getting any time to work on it.

My wifes grandparents used to eat it all the time, but that was a product of the depression.

try a Thai red duck curry. you may change your mind about eating duck. I've never had a bad one.

Duck! uh...I mean look out!

Saw one of those hunting shows where they shot some ducks. It featured one of the TV cooks. None of the "hunters" wanted to cook and/or eat the duck. After the cook dude was done, they all really liked it. He explained several mistakes people make cooking duck and how to do it right, I just don't remember any of it as I almost never find myself in a situation where I have a duck to cook.

Was this wild duck, or store bought duck?

We had some wild duck that wasn't bad. Brined it in salt water and a touch of vinegar for like 36hours. Stuffed it with onions and peppers, wrapped in bacon, and then ran it through the smoker with just a small amount of smoke.

Not the best thing ever, but definitely edible.

RKDinOKC 11-27-2011 09:07 PM

The guy on the show fried it in a pan. The hunters were very very skeptical.

sure he did. and he replaced it with chicken, or something edible, like dog crap. that 'cook' pulled a fast one.

this duck was soaked in brine and then browned, then braised with red wine, garlic, sugar, and herbs de provence. in-fkn-edible.

it was a complete waste of half a bottle of red wine. totally goddam disgusting.

you know how mud that is full of biodegradable stuff smells.... kind of strong and petroleum scented.... this was worse. it was like goose sjit stuffed with diaper.
