that's what you get for not joining the EU :D

GH85Carrera 12-15-2009 10:37 AM

We are not in the EU and we don't have those taxes :)

He showed me how to set up the case to make sure it is square and then he did some milling with a Bridgeport. The Bridgeport he has was made in 1953. It is just massive, and very cool.

For any machinist it would be boring as heck but for a computer geek like me it was very interesting. I have fabricated many tools or patches in my garage over the years. Nothing I did was even close to what this guy does. He had a set of 911 heads that he had just finished rebuilding. He will start assembly of the engine next weekend after a more cleaning. He invited me over to watch the engine assembly. I should be at home putting the front suspension back together on my 911 but I may have to "help" him assemble a 911 engine. I will ask him if he minds me taking a few photos.

OOOO Can I come? Sounds like Hella more fun than working on the turbo... Which I will continue to do... Can never have to many brownie points with the guy that runs autocross...

Oh.. Morning boys... BTW....

the_webbster 12-15-2009 11:03 AM

What? high standard of living, free education, one of the world's best health and welfare systems, tons of Oil, Fish and other natural resources (all to ourselves)?

Yeah, don't know why we didn't jump on the EU bandwagon and share all of our wealth with the eastern bloc countries...

the_webbster 12-15-2009 11:06 AM

OH, you were talking about the taxes...

yeah, well... ummmm.... we got health care and welfare...

It all works out the same with high salaries and standard of living...

When is the 930 scheduled to make it's arrival?

the_webbster 12-15-2009 04:46 PM

Not too sure, actually. I guess the shipping time is around a month or two. I haven't been able to get any kind of schedule out of the Auto Associates guys. I'm thinking about calling them tomorrow and getting a little more info out of them.
It's late and I need to get to bed.

Rick V 12-15-2009 04:56 PM

Yeah because you gotta get up before I do.

porsche4life 12-15-2009 08:55 PM
