Thanks for thinking of me, Vas, but it looks like Schumi has it covered. :)

The basics that he or I would need are your rear tire overall diameter and the final drive ratio, along with any of the gears you are not looking to change (1st?). Then we can get a thrust vs. speed graph so you know how much acceleration you will have and what kind of rpm drops.

Thanks, Max.
Schumi has done the calcs for me.
With the stock 930 R&P of 4.22, a 4th gear ratio of .77 will get you a top speed at 6800 RPM of 247 km/hr
So it looks like I will go with this original 1st, 1.53 2nd, 1.04 3rd & .77

Thanks Schumi. :)

Looks like Vas was on the money.

Mike is a good bloke...

Even if he did convince me that I really needed that pile of parts he claims I can shape back into a car at some point....

vas930 02-18-2012 10:31 PM

Ah, come on ,Sid.

Oh, and Max your thread on the AX Racing Section is awesome.
I wish I knew some of what you do.
Well done young man.

Seems to know his stuff.
Was a big help. :)

Whats the hold up on the build, cash ?

porsche4life 02-18-2012 10:34 PM

Sorry vas, but according to US law I will not be old enough to imbibe for several more months....

And I've yet to find a beer I care much for....

porsche4life 02-18-2012 10:35 PM

Time and cash... When I have one I'm shy on the other.... Right now I'm just lacking the time to get it back together.

Thanks Vas. I have been interested in mechanical things since I was just a toddler. It was airplanes first, then my Dad's Porsche. So I love doing that sort of stuff.

Good night guys.

It sounds like your 930 will be a real fun ride, Vas. :)

porsche4life 02-18-2012 10:44 PM

Its not even 11 Max.....

HHI944 02-18-2012 10:45 PM

Hmmm, after digging a bit, it looks like having a muffler shop replace the middle muffler with an h pipe will produce the tone I want.

slodave 02-18-2012 10:50 PM

Try Boags when you get a chance. :)
Whats up with the chick?

HHI944 02-18-2012 10:51 PM

Is it Monday yet?
The 9500ix should be here Wednesday and friday I have to go to atlanta. I intend to put the detector through its paces on I16. 150 miles of straight highway with very few exits...

vas930 02-18-2012 10:52 PM

Howdy, Dave.
Care for a Becks ?

In a cold glass.

slodave 02-18-2012 10:53 PM

Glass isn't cold anymore and I don't keep them on rotation. I should, but too lazy to wash one every time I get a new beer.

Joe, what time is it at your place?

HHI944 02-18-2012 10:54 PM

I love beer.....real beer, not the crap available at grocery stores. Stone brewery doesn't make anything short of excellent. Duvel is another favorite. Their tripel hop is incredible with a la flor dominicana airbender.
