Sean has gotten such a good reputation, and so much work he quit his job and does nothing but wrench 928s and for only $75/hr. Roger was kind enough to move a restoration back on one of his cars so they could get me back on the road.

Thats great, Stick.
How long do you think it will take to get it back in the car? :)

Sounds like a good plan, Sid.
How old are your parents, Sid ?
If thats not rude.

Mom is 48, and dad is 47 for a few more months. Dad started the business 20yrs ago, and mom quit her full time job around '95.

Well, if they can pay things off and slow down a bit when young, even better. :)

Book says 5 hours out, 5 hours back in.

Not sure yet how long to get the head work done.

Also deciding if I want to have the intake and cam covers refinished, media striped and re-powder coated.

porsche4life 02-25-2012 10:13 PM

Thats their plan. They should have the house, 10acres and all the shop buildings paid for inside of 5 years. When the M and the red truck sell vehicle payments will be gone. Then the only debt would be if the company buys a new truck, but that would be to replace two we are using currently, and we are looking at selling another, so that would be 3 insurance payments turned into 1.....

Nice to do it while you have it out.

While that would be nice, I'd rather then enjoy it. I figure I won't do too bad when I get out of school. And I stand to inherit a nice bit of land from them, and there is some family land, that I figure will be split between me and my cousin. Theres just the two of us grand kids on that side.

Heya all SmileWavy

Big day. Moved the 944 today - parts still not here. Discovered a few more bits and pieces I need to order for the restoration while putting her back together (partially) this morning. Oh well, it's only money ;)

Grand daughter has come over to play :D

No chance naming any offspring after you lot Rick. Took to myself with a blunt butter knife a couple of years back - irreparable damage :D

Nice dave, I hope this is the start of many 'Slodaves' to come. I may be up for one myself one day.

svandamme 02-26-2012 03:02 AM

I wish you luck. Way cool, Dave the guitar builder. That almost sounds like a line of children's cartoons.
