Talked to that girl this morning. Asked her about her weekend. She talked with me, didn't tell me to go away. It's a start. I have class with her again this afternoon.

Jenny talked to Forrest too..

I said it's a start. Testing the waters so to speak. No instant rejection is good.

She's an engineer as well, so we should be somewhat compatable.

Flieger 04-09-2012 11:29 AM

And Stick doesn't want to hear more about it I am sure.

Stijn, here's a club for you:

Don't need another club, already got one to go to..
I get to shoot stuff there and they sell decent beer for cheap in the bar..

I ask you , what more does a man need from a club ?

Flieger 04-09-2012 11:37 AM

A racetrack?

svandamme 04-09-2012 11:39 AM

You've never been to, or driven a car in Europe have ya?

Flieger 04-09-2012 11:40 AM

No, but California has great roads too. The thing is that on a track you don't have to worry about the Polizei.

Flieger 04-09-2012 11:44 AM

I do actually prefer the canyon roads to the racetrack because they are tighter, more scenic, and much longer- more like how the Nordschleife makes every lap a new experience and you feel like you are really going somewhere, at least from what I have read.

The downside is that -unlike the Nordschleife- you must look out for cops and keep close enough to the speed limit to avoid car impoundment and jail time. That is easier in the canyons, luckily, since they can be quite tight.

svandamme 04-09-2012 11:46 AM

I'm not really worried about the Polizei either...

Flieger 04-09-2012 11:47 AM

Whatever they call the police in Belgium. Why not?

Flieger 04-09-2012 11:52 AM

My Dad has said that a major reason he is so nervous/scared when we go out driving on the weekend is the fear of cops. When we have gone out on weekdays he is always much more relaxed. Partially because the cops have other stuff to do than watch the canyons during the week when not that many guys are out.

Flieger 04-09-2012 11:53 AM

Now I am only 11 posts behind Stick in this thread. ;)

Because they are far and few between, use predictable methods and the fines are low enough that i really can't be arsed if they bust me.. to me it's a statistic, and they would have to bust me a lot to make the statistics work against me..

Hell, i've over taken the cops on the high way once in the 944S, when i was trying to figure out the topspeed of the 16 ventiler.. speedo said it was 254, Satnave reduced it to a more credible 242..

Cops were quite upset... but they did not catch me, did not have evidence, or a calibrated measurement of my speed..so the entire weekend they followed me around town with an attitude of "we know what you did, we want you to know that we know"... quite amusing really.

Flieger 04-09-2012 12:04 PM

How far is the nearest unrestricted Autobahn from you?

svandamme 04-09-2012 12:07 PM

something like 300 km..
but that's boring stuff really.. they are straight wide, no sharp bends... yawn..

I prefer 150 kph on a farm road just a tad wider then my car then 200 kph on a billard table..

Porsche-poor 04-09-2012 12:32 PM

geeeze the place goes nuts between breakfast and lunch.

Spoon challenge issued? What do you bet all the married guys show up with ammo and gun cases......

svandamme 04-09-2012 12:37 PM

GH85Carrera 04-09-2012 12:39 PM

It is hard to keep up.

G-man, ya got us. At least you found one worthy of thinking about tying the knot with.

Max at the rate you have been posting you will zoom up past me. Rick will be a difficult target to overtake.

Porsche-poor 04-09-2012 12:52 PM

I was thinking in terms of the married guys would have their bases covered as in "honey I thought she wanted to go shooting...."
