As far as I know, she is still happily involved with another POC racer at the moment. It really would not be a good idea for Max to flirt. It won't end well.

Sidney!!! Darn you! Great video. Now I need to get a Porsche like yesterday and get my butt out there! I love watching videos of Porsches driving. The NorCal Porsche driving group has go pro cams on their cars. I love hearing the engine as they shift. Once, they put music on it and I yelled at them. Who wants to hear music? I want to hear the engine!

You know what else doesn't end well? Life? It has a 100% fail rate..........goferit!

Maybe because I have a 4-speed (and I'm stupid?) I'll occasionally downshift into first. There are sometimes around town where 2nd is lugging. And there are a couple corners in the canyons (think Decker, going up a couple switchbacks) where 2nd is too high.

porsche4life 04-21-2012 10:20 PM

Like I said, if I feel I need first, I use it... But also 944 gear boxes are dirt cheap, and I've already got a spare....

You see me grab it several times in that video, it doesn't fight it...

OK, so maybe don't flirt shamelessly. But there are ways to be endearing to her without being threatening. So if anything ever goes wrong with her current BF, she'll think of you. And in the meantime, you're chatting up a friend like you would any other. Well, maybe not exactly like any other.

HHI944 04-21-2012 10:23 PM

You're chatting up a friend like you would any other incredibly attractive, car geek friend.............

we have this great thing around here to help with boyfriends in situations like this......I refer to them as swamps and gators.

porsche4life 04-21-2012 10:24 PM

I don't know that she reads OT, but you geniuses do remember that regan is on pelican right?

HHI944 04-21-2012 10:29 PM

Regan, if you're reading this, MARRY ME!!!
(sorry Tweeze.....unless you're both willing to move to Utah)

tweezers74 04-21-2012 10:29 PM

Ha ha! Well, then Max, if she does read this thread, I guess you wouldn't have to be all worried and stressed on how to approach her.

She is cute, Max. But yeah, don't flirt too hard. I don't like it when guys do that when they know I am with someone. It shows disrespect. Just be friends with her. Treat her nice. If the BF, leaves the picture, she will remember how you treated her and respected her relationship. That's my two cents...

You do realize that you're talking to the guy that suggested a catholic priest go to the family restaurant next door to look for a little boy because there wouldn't be any in the cigar bar..........the guy who got involved with his 47yo, horribly unstable, boss...........the guy who very briefly dated a girl who goes on trial in a month for 10 felony counts related to a home invasion and beating......do I need to go on????

tweezers74 04-21-2012 10:31 PM

Ummm... Joe, no need to apologize. Why did you think I never said yes? Knew you were a marriage proposal whore from the beginning. :D

I know how life ends. :)

I also know that she is all but off limits. :)

Or not. And in that case that's not the chick you want to be with, anyway.

We joke about the stealing of a girl from a BF, but again--not a chick you want to be with.

And pretty girls seem to have pretty girl friends...

Actually, I think I'm just a dumbass in general with regards to women.....that should be broad enough to cover it all........

That implies that there is at least the possibility..........Imagine if the Wright brothers hadn't gone for the long shot?

No, it is just called being polite. You might try it sometime.

That's pretty much what I am doing. Just acting like a friend and trying to be one that stands out just a little bit in her mind.

I hadn't figured on her reading OT, let alone Stijn! She is more on another forum where HRG documents their car builds. I think she only posted here a few times and only in her thread in the track forum.

But if she does read this thread...

And why am I supposed to take advice from you? You are only 5 years older than me anyway.

Agreed. I don't think Max would want a girl that would be easily wooed from her BF to him. Yeah, don't want that girl.

What I meant was when a guy is truly your friend and respects you have a relationship, and keeps his nose out of it, a girl is more likely to see that guy as a potential after a break up. Same reason as yours above. A girl doesn't want to be with a guy that is willing to break up a relationship so he has a shot. If she was t meant to be with her BF, then it will dissolve on its own. No need for help from another guy. Be patient. :)

slodave 04-21-2012 10:41 PM

Max, you are safe. I think she'd be flattered. But, I also know that she does have a wild streak in her and has been known to drink once or twice (cough cough).
