seems like you've all but given up in your challenge with dave. defense mechanism. the whole point of the challenge was to get you out of your comfort zone.

This challenge is to get both of us to stop making excuses and better ourselves. While technically we both can "win", there is no prize for first place, other than knowing that you (and I) have completed what are both really simple tasks. There is just under 2 weeks left.

Max, just get out there and do it! Stop looking for marriage material. You need to get out there and meet someone before marriage can even be thought about. You will also never know if they are marriage material unless you at a minimum, introduce yourself.

Between classes is only good for a "hi" and not really a conversation. Usually there are not so many people out and about during classes so I need to find a venue outside of class where people have time on their hands to socialize.

You know, they have these wonderful places, where you can spend time socially, have a drink if you wish, talk to girls, perhaps dance....

Ok, ok. It does not have to be a wife yet, just a temporary friend would be fine. I actually would be fine with someone from the friend zone. It would be nice if it could be more than that, but I really just want someone to share feelings and time with that I can't with my male friends.

are there restaurants or places to eat in your student union? after class, around lunch time, ask a girl if they'd want to snag something to munch. walk over and eat. it's convenient, completely informal (doesn't seem like you're going "out."), etc.

Well, it is a little harder than that to find a girl with no class after the one getting out when it is engineering classes, but I get what you are saying. I am not ready for asking the blonde with a possible bf to do that but I could try someone else. Or else try my luck with a stranger from the ge class. Which is not much different than a stranger walking down the street.

Max, I don't care if it doesn't make it past the first conversation. The challenge, as has beed said, is for youh to get out of your comfort zone. Just go talk for a half hour, that's all!

Well I have been out of my comfort zone already.

I don't know if the other guy/guys she talks to more often and much more relaxed are in her senior project group or not.

have you tried the campus library? instant conversation starters...you see a chick reading or studying. all you have to do is ask what they are looking at. "hey, i noticed you were looking at "XXXXXXX" so cool! ....blah blah blah." to pull this off, you really need to know little things about a lot of stuff. if it's something that you're versed in, you can segue right into it...

OK, I am seeing something now. If I am looking for a girlfriend then I get too nervous. I have to stop looking but keep talking and just trying to find new friends. That is what the 'stop looking' means.

YES. you have to be friends with a girl to have her become a girlfriend.
