Neat. I like the leaves.

I have one of those that is 30 years old and was a baby from my grandmothers plant. I have seen it bloom one time. It takes up a rather large space in my bedroom but seems happy.
This one is a wax plant and is close to 40 years old, it blooms about once every 5-8 years and has itty bitty white/pink bloom clusters. Beth and I are trying to get up the nerve to re-pot ithttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1340065895.jpg

We've had it since I was a kid and it has only bloomed once in 50 years.

that stuff is taking over the north shore of oahu. beautiful plant, IMO.

Be right bac.............

GH85Carrera 06-18-2012 06:26 PM

Whew. Everything is hooked up and I am waiting for the 30 minute vacuum pull before I charge it up! So clean up the garage and wait.

Years ago at my office we had a decorative plant in the front lobby. We had the lobby very well lit so customers would like the way the product we delivered looked. The "corn" plant bloomed and it was awful. It made a horrible mess and it smelled real bad. We had a customer come in that was an owner of a plant service and he had never seen one bloom. We gave him that plant for one that was similar but not blooming. All the employees cheered when that horrible plant left.

GH85Carrera 06-18-2012 08:10 PM

The Elky has cold AC! It may need some tweaking on the pressures after I drive it tomorrow.

I destroyed a pair of ray bans while working on the landy.......decided the next pair needed to be a bit more resilient......these things are friggin bullet proof (literally, independant testers have shot buckshot at them from 15yds on a dummy head with no penetration) chemical resistant. The photochromic lense option sealed the deal since my sunglasses can now serve as my shooting glasses at the low-light indoor ranges we have around here.

HHI944 06-18-2012 08:27 PM

Well, time for another glass of wine then sleep. Getting up early to hike with the pup!!

So this English class I am taking during the summer...

I chose it because it sounded better than Women Writers of the something rather and it satisfies the graduation writing requirement which means I don't have to come in early on a Saturday next year to write an essay on a prompt that I likely will know nothing about.

It is called something like diversity in modern literature and I did not know what it was about until I went to look at the book list...

Turns out it is the course about comics/graphic novels that I had heard about from the team lead on the Formula Electric team. Wednesday we take the GWR test during the class period. If we pass, then good. If we fail, it has no bearing on the course grade at all and we have another chance to pass the GWR at the end of the quarter with the final exam (which will be an essay about the comics and will be graded by the teacher I believe, instead of a panel of judges). Then we have a couple short papers during the quarter and a short comic (few pages) to make.

I think I can actually read these books. They are thick but mostly pictures. :)

First one up next week is Maus.

The B-29 and P-51 at the Carbondale airport brought back memories of summers on the lakes and river there, and also how I went from there to Oshkosh one year.

So I finally uploaded my Oshkosh 2007 photos.

I wish I knew then what I know now, though. ~sigh~
(Not the aeronautical engineering/pysics stuff -- I knew a lot of that back then. They did not really teach us anything at the EAA acadamy thing that I did not know already).

Loosen your grip on the yoke!

Flieger 06-18-2012 09:46 PM

I was really skinny back then... Scary skinny in some pictures. It was not a death-grip.

Outback Porsche 06-18-2012 09:52 PM

I was skinny once upon a time..............seems like a fairy tale now ;)
