We rand to the local grocery store. It is the 100% opposite of a country store from Enid. We parked in a freaking multi story parking garage. Take an elevator to the bottom and open up to a huge Whole Paycheck store. We walked by the seafood soup area and it smelled so good we bought some lobster bisque, and clam chowder. It was very good. Found some ripe apricots and some grapes. Got back to the hotel and showered. The car will have to wait until tomorrow.

For those that care this is what two old baby boomers look like after a two mile hike to see the canyon sights. Our mouths are open because we are sucking in air trying to breath. We made it with no problems.

This is another one of the view we saw after the hike.

Sigh. Another year.

Happens once a year, like clockwork. :) Happy Birthday, Alarick.

Joe, got back to the humidor tonight. Took about 1.5 hours to replace the blade and re-tune the bandsaw, so just the slice. I don't have the cedar yet anyway. I have to sand both cut sides on glass to get the fit just right. It's pretty good right from the saw, but not perfect.

That humidor is going to be gorgeous!

slodave 07-07-2012 10:41 PM

Thanks.

Noah930 07-07-2012 10:48 PM

Thanks guys. The day was today. I want to run with the bulls in Pamplona one of these years. From what I recall, there's a street in Toledo (Spain, not Ohio) named after this calendar day.

slodave 07-07-2012 11:07 PM

Haha. Yeah, like that's going to happen. :D

Noah930 07-07-2012 11:08 PM

What time is Silverstone on TV tomorrow?

slodave 07-08-2012 01:55 AM

Morning, Rick.

Rick V 07-08-2012 01:56 AM

Happy birthday Alerick.

Dave that looked like a nerve racking cut.

Rick V 07-08-2012 01:57 AM

Morning Dave

slodave 07-08-2012 02:09 AM

Yeah. You really can't push hard on this type of a cut or the blade wanders at this height (about 11"). It took four hands and about 4 minutes to complete. :D

Even though the bandsaw may be setup correctly, the blade does twist left or right. The fence is not perpendicular to the blade.

Here's the custom fence that I used. It's not obvious in the pic, but it's not perpendicular to the table.

There was a pencil line on the tape at the cut line. The saw was as dead on as can be.

The tape prevented tearout from the blade.
