then, there is the urban dictionary:

Urban Dictionary: giggle

LOL!

Outback Porsche 07-26-2012 06:24 PM

....the most interesting definition was when used as part of the phrase '5hits and Giggles' - A beer fart. Who come up with this 5hit?

I alway thought '5hits and Giggles' was 'doing something just for the fun of it' (which thankfully happened to show up in the google search).

I don't listen to Bike much but hearing it on occasion I like it. I do like Interstellar Overdrive, Astronomy Domine, Let There Be More Light, and Remember A Day, so the early stuff is good by me. I like Jefferson Airplane and stuff, though.

I still like the slightly later stuff a lot -particularly Echoes, Saucerfull of Secrets, and One of These Days (like from the Live at Pompeii) along with Dark Side of the Moon and Animals. Wish You Were Here is amazing.

The only songs on the Wall that I like are Gilmour songs.

Flieger 07-26-2012 07:12 PM

Watching that interview and the clips of the live version of the Wall, it makes more sense now.

When I saw the movie I had a hard time figuring it out. All I could come up with was that it involved a boy never knowing his father who had been killed in WW2 and thinking often about him. Then he goes crazy. The documentary Dave linked to my facebook mentioned that it was supposed to be about Syd but I could only see the crazy part as being like him.

After the film I was left asking "so, what is the wall?". I still am not sure how the walls between people were represented in the movie. I got more of a feeling that his life, his father were just bricks in the wall of human history.

that is a good 'college' answer. one for the professor. what does you heart tell you that the wall is?

I really don't know. That is all I got. Maybe I am not trying hard enough.

Afterwards I felt like it must be better when stoned to get the reverence it does.

GH85Carrera 07-26-2012 08:12 PM

About time for bed.

nynor 07-26-2012 08:14 PM

really? you have no visceral response? no emotional knowledge of what the album/artist(s) is saying?

i've never seen it 'stoned'.

not trying hard enough is another 'college' type response. this isn't a rock music course.
