It was dark all around.
There was frost in the ground
When the tigers broke free.
And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company Z.
They were all left behind,
Most of them dead,
The rest of them dying.
And that's how the High Command
Took my daddy from me.
Gets me every time.

Looks like Alarick and I are going to see BHTM. Blues Traveler and Cracker tomorrow night.

slodave 07-26-2012 11:32 PM

Wait, no Blues Traveler?? That sucks.

Knowing that it actually is talking about Waters' father makes that song move me much more than before.

Good night (morning) all.

slodave 07-27-2012 12:35 AM

Night.

Haha. Have to agree, Max. Is there a sign on your back or something Dave?

Anyone up for a beer?

Got tonights dinner menu sorted - Oysters Kilpatrick, Marinated Prawns wrapped in spring roll wrappers and deep fried, all on a salad bed drizzled with Thai dressing and some sweet chili dipping sauce.

I don't know what it is. I'm a nice guy. What can I say? He seemed flustered and was out of gas. I was just trying to help out. I have not been in his exact situation last night, but woke up in unfamiliar places a few times as well, so I know how that goes. :D

I enjoy listening to Pink Floyd (and so does my Granddaughter), I have a few CD's and the DVD Pulse.

I find that the music relaxes me. I've never analysed it past that. It's interesting to read your analysis, but for me it's just good music that I've grown up with and I'll continue to listen/watch with my little Ewok ;)

I too can relate to this, but it seems that they pick you out Dave :)

I'm rusty now, but I knew just about everything possible about PF when I was a teen/early 20's. I was a big fan.

I parked next to his Lexus. I had no idea anyone was in it (maybe he wasn't at the time I pulled up). I just thought it belonged to a golfer or jogger. He was sitting in it with the door open and the music on when I got back. Not uncommon. :D

I thought I may be out of luck tonight. Found some at the grocery store.

Had a text book in trade school that was written by a bloke called Floyd - it's cover was pink. Not hard to guess what the book was always called when ever it was needed.

The instructors got so used to it, they even accepted the use when ever it was referenced in assignments and exams.

slodave 07-27-2012 01:01 AM

Everybody turn to page 64 in the Pink Floyd.

Outback Porsche 07-27-2012 01:03 AM

Yup. That brings back memories :D

slodave 07-27-2012 01:04 AM

Anyone every say anything like "my 8 track doesn't have a page 64!".

Outback Porsche 07-27-2012 01:06 AM

It was amplifier theory. I remember the instructors telling us that these discrete transistor things are just a fad. BWHAHAHAHAHA

slodave 07-27-2012 01:08 AM

They were wrong. Tube is better though. :)
