I guess my point is that that's pretty far through that corner. He's past the apex, yet sounds like he's still on the verge of lockup (couple small screeches) and stands up the bike (or was it never laid over in the first place) before he travels an arc somewhat greater than the outer radius of the pavement. He should be accelerating by then, slowly rolling on the throttle as it's a long corner and you always feel like you're chasing it--not still trying to slow things down. No?

Yeah, I get what you are saying now. Weird. You see people go off pretty frequently because they are inexperienced and lean over but lean too far or something and end up getting a little unstable so they stand the bike up and then target fixate on the dirt so that is where they end up. I know on the downhill if my tire pressure is too low (rear is most important) then the tires seem to react too slowly. I lean and then the rear starts to slide/scrub so I reduce lean because my slowing has would make my patch curvature too great but the reduced lean makes me end up going wide (still in my lane) so I increase lean... and it ends up in a very untidy oscillatory line through the turn and scrubbing off too much speed.

It also does not help that my tires have sipes for rain and after wearing as much as the rear is now, it is slick in the center and treaded on the shoulders, so there is less grip on the shoulders.

I guess I have to take back the "mumbles" comment. I could understand Kimi today. :)

With all the talk of riding, here is a reminder to wear your gear.

I just got back home after taking the wife, dog, and 964 garage queen (964GQ) for a drive in the country. We ended up going to Harper's Ferry where we got to cool off a bit by wading in the river and we sat outside in the shade eating some ice cream. The park rangers lined up a great spot for us to park the 964GQ where other tourists wouldn't ding the car. And today's temp wasn't too hot, so we drove the whole way with windows down and no A/C on. We'll char some animal flesh on the grill shortly. Why can't every day be like today? :)

Gotcha, I was scratching the noggin' trying to figure out how a cheeseburger was a hip issue.

Busy day for me. I got the yard mowed and edged. Then I changed the oil on the 911. Now I'm am getting ready for my buddy to drop by for dinner. I have two one pound prime steaks ready for the grill. Corn on the cob and aspergass with cold beer.

I spent my day hiding behind a guitar. I really needed the "get away"

I spent the day (hour) behind various eye checking machines. Contact lens for the right eye. :( So much for the Lasik 10 years ago. Left eye is still good.

Rick, I think I can hit that target your dad sent downrange last Sept. now.

I can too, just not with a pistol. :)

Are you coherent enough now to give your thoughts on The Wall like you mentioned a few pages ago?

Toga party's on then?

Must be grill steak Sunday? Threw some rib eye on the barbie last night myself, along with marinated pork belly. Thought about taking a pic but I'd left my phone inside.

David had what appeared to be grilled salmon last night as the pic on my phone this morning would have indicated

Yeah, but it's nap time. :D

Rick V 07-29-2012 04:15 PM

Max, where the wall does have a slightly defined story line(s) it like an audio rowshak (sp) test. There really is no correct answer, you take from it what you want. That is a big part of the reason it has withstood the test of time.
It is a framework for your own mind. Forget watching the movie, get some headphones and close your eyes and listen to the music, about six times in a row, straight through then see how you feel. Free your mind Quaid

rorschach test, by the way. I had to look that spelling up too.
