i assume you are referring to the electricity experiment....

i am etching a tin with the likeness of my son. i did this saturday night as an anniversary gift for my wife. it made quite an impression, so to speak.

Porsche-poor 09-05-2012 12:20 PM

That sounds cool. when will it be done?

nynor 09-05-2012 12:24 PM

it took two hours, start to finish. started with altering a photo of my son with gimp, ended after 30 minutes or so in the etching bath. it turned out pretty awesome, too. my wife was absolutely thrilled/emotional. i put a printout of the picture i used inside the tin, with a love note.

I made a few brownie points with Mrs. Carrera today. I had a 1/2 dozen pretty red & yellow roses sent to her office. The note just said Thank You!

She has had a long few weeks with me in the hospital and she has had to pick up some of the household chores that I always did.

Gaaaaaaaa

I just set up a flight plan for our pilot to go make a simple shoot. It is down in SE Texas almost to Houston. If I make one little mistake he shoots the wrong piece of ground, or does not cover the area. It always makes me nervoius to do the flight plans. It is so easy to screw up and do nothing but waste a couple of grand.

Glen, reading your post convinces me that sometimes, even though I hate to admit it, would like to have a man around. It has been hard being solo again and although I think I am surviving because I am a very strong person, it would be nice to get flowers on a rough day. You are a good husband. :)

Rick V 09-05-2012 01:59 PM

Evening Y"all. Well I spent my day getting readt to remove the bathroom floor, all the way to the crawl space

tweezers74 09-05-2012 02:01 PM

Awwwwww... And now I read nynor's post. You guys are so sweet. I want to see the pic, Nynor. It sounds so cool. Both of you... Good men.

pete3799 09-05-2012 03:13 PM

Don't feel left out Rick.......i'm sure removing the bathroom floor is sweet too.

Jim Richards 09-05-2012 03:15 PM

Don't I get a "you're sweet, too" for my Sunday outing with my better half? J/k...that was too many pages back? ;)

Rick V 09-05-2012 03:15 PM

Well I will actually get a better reaction from a remodeled bathroom than I would from flowers. Beth seems to have lost her mind

Jim Richards 09-05-2012 03:17 PM

my wife chose doing some remodeling on the recently acquired SoCal house over a trip to Hawaii. Of course, that was last fall/winer. Now she's getting itchy to travel.

Rick V 09-05-2012 03:21 PM

Because the remodeling is finished. Just sayin'

Thanks. I try hard to pay attention to her.

Jim Richards 09-05-2012 03:24 PM

Not even close, Rick. Remodeling is going to continue for at least two more years, with us working a week or two every 3 months.

Nothing more fun than a bathroom remodel. When I redid my old bathroom it started with a minor change to the sink. It ended with a total gut of the bathroom. I had pink toilet and tub with green tile. The room was down to bare wall studs, no floor at all except the cross studs and the toilet flange was lead pipe. I had to hire a plumber to replace the lead drains. New sub floor, new tub-shower, new toilet, new walls. I will never do that again.

Rick V 09-05-2012 03:28 PM

Well there went that joke. :)
