We kept plugging those up on a bike that'd had bad rust, so it got the bigger filter for a season, then back to the cheap one.

All women are crazy.........just ******* go for it!

Noah930 10-04-2012 09:39 PM

So Dave, what are we doing to the 911?

Flieger 10-04-2012 09:39 PM

This was a CA bike so I am not thinking there is much rust inside. Probably mostly varnish.

nynor 10-04-2012 09:39 PM

meh. maybe she'll see past the front that max has put up and take the lead.

I can see that being am issue if you don't POR the tank...........I don't like doing things twice so I go overkill.......if I'm rebuilding a carb, it gets new jets and seals, a new fuel filter and possibly line and the gas tank gets coated.......

We are replacing the two gas lines from the tank to the tunnel. If we're really lucky, it's the fuel pump that's leaking!

porsche4life 10-04-2012 09:41 PM

Max, the rust comes from water in the fuel, and other corrosives from sitting a long time. It's not all actually rust, as gunk and buildup.

Any bike that has sat with fuel in the tank for a long time, will have that problem. Especially with etoh in the gas now...

Flieger 10-04-2012 09:41 PM

I try not to show that side in public. If she asks, though, I'm just fine with that.

rust INSIDE the tank has more to do with it being stored for long periods of time with a tank that is not COMPLETELY full of fuel and a little stabilizer. YMMV.

good night folks. i gotta get to bed. also, i have to doctor the female cat, as she's been fighting and has a HUGE infection in the exterior part of her ear. and she is a big baby about getting it lanced.

Flieger 10-04-2012 09:45 PM

The new Levi's made in Mexico and India suck. I think 34" is the new 30". My pants fall off after a half hour wearing them.

Noah930 10-04-2012 09:49 PM

Maybe we need to get Max a pair of those. For working in the hanger, ya know.

HHI944 10-04-2012 09:53 PM

Oh yeah, this stuff is awesome!

I did buy 2 pairs of Levis. 34x29 I think was the size. I had a hell of a time finding ones that fit since I am short but my thighs are big because of all the cycling I do. These are still quite tight in the thighs but anything else was ridiculously loose in the waist or else too long. They really restrict my motion when mounting/dismounting on my bike, and they sqeeze tighter when I pedal. So I just go everywhere in shorts and change into them when I get to the hangar.

slodave 10-04-2012 10:10 PM

Jeeezus! You wear a 34?

Flieger 10-04-2012 10:13 PM

My Levi's shorts are 32 and 34. The 32 I don't need a belt until I go for a ride and they loosen up. I like the fit of those at the waist but they are a little too short and they are a little tight in the thighs as well, but nothing compared to the pants.
