Dude I would not recommend quitting to anybody the way I feel. I went from 2 packs of Marlboro reds to 0. You should see the stuff I am hacking up.

svandamme 01-29-2010 03:59 PM

oh, but i've been there... i once went cold turkey myself...
just hang in there...you'll be fine in a week.

then be on watch for a sudden backfire lust for a ciggie...

i had it on day 19...

drove to the fuel station, bought a pack, lit the smoke... and by the time i got home i was friggin high as a kite...

then saw the error of my ways... and proceded to smoke 3-4 smokes back to back till i puked..... .and then i managed 9 months clean...

it all went sought again when i went skiing.. and got really drunk....

well, from when i quit smoking, it seems that some vitamin C really helped. orange juice will do just fine. the vaporizer is a very good idea. also, drink something warm, like herbal tea or regular tea. i'd steer clear of milk products for a bit, just some clear liquids.

how much do you think it is not smoking and how much do you think it is from being sick? does the stuff you are coughing up have a smell? is it green or brown?

nynor 01-29-2010 04:01 PM

i fired up the 900ss a few minutes ago. sweet music. god i love that bike.

svandamme 01-29-2010 04:02 PM

yeah, milk or dairy products are no good, they are more likely to produce even more mucus , runny nose and what not...

Check, got all that covered, I never thought about the vapor cough drops, but don't tell Stijn, he has a big enough head already. And it is brown stuff that I think I could use for tile mucilage

The Madeira port is actually pretty good, did chill it in the freezer a bit(ran out of ice cubes)...
It's got a fairly strong after tang to it... But i've been to Madeira island... and the whole island had a rather strong after tang to it... it's been 5-6 years ago, and still haven't worked out if it was good or bad...

We have had enough rain here since the last snow to clear the roads of all the sand and salt, and I was planning on taking Lanna out, but we are gonna get another foot tonight. Fook-Me

svandamme 01-29-2010 04:10 PM

Rick... i know all there is to known about cough drops.
just didn't mention it, cause you are detoxing, not re-toxing.

there's this other story about how i wanted to go to Tenerife island, and wanted my friend to tag along... he was a bonafide pothead, and freaked out at the idea of being on an island for a week without weed.

So i told him i'de take care of things... and i smuggled about 8 grams of hasjish along to the island... which he smoked up in 2 days.

So on day 3, he's getting nervous...

I walk in to the Pharmacia... tell the lady who does'n't speak any of my languages...

cough cough..
siropa

con codeine...

she shows me a bottle

no good
other bottle..

finally she shows me a good one...

tres, por favour...

back at the hotel we drank codeine shots with half liter spanish piss beer chasers.... in the blazing sun...

mind you.. it was a pretty darn good vacation...

You party animal

svandamme 01-29-2010 04:22 PM

man, you wouldn't believe the stuff i pulled when i was younger...
they could write a medical science paper titled "How some livers survive extreme toxicological shock an awe"...

Some say it's a miracle i'm still alive, others say it's not fair.

svandamme 01-29-2010 04:24 PM

anyhoo, i'm gonna hit the sack... ex-party animal is probably more accurate these days...can't remember how long it's been since i last partied till sunrise...hell, can't even remember last time i've gone out and partied... just can't be bothered with it these days.... it would eat into my Porsche budget

slodave 01-29-2010 04:29 PM

oh, i just fired it up in the garage.... too cold and wet and the roads, hidden ice in the shady areas.

one more thing you might try is a little guafenisin. try not to get stuff with added pseudoephedrine or dextromethorphan, just the g-stuff. it will help loosen and thin the lung butter.

also, if you get short of breath, at all, you need some medical help. if you start "tripod-ing", which is when you can't get your breath and you end up sitting and hunched over supporting your upper body with your arms, you go to the ER.

nynor 01-29-2010 04:31 PM

night, stijn.

Rick V 01-29-2010 04:54 PM

Night Stijn,
ER? how do ya spell that? remember I speak southern.

porsche4life 01-29-2010 05:01 PM

Back in the apartment for a few minutes to shower and get dry clothes... Movie is next on the agenda I think... Ended up not cooking but we did go play in the snow for several hours....

Rick V 01-29-2010 05:18 PM

yanno Sid you could have kept all the snow that way I wouldn't have to deal with it here

porsche4life 01-29-2010 05:21 PM

Rick you should see the roads.... they haven't plowed.. We are just cruising on top of all of it packed down... I was ebraking turns and didn't get on the power quick enough.... WEEE all the way around. :D

Rick V 01-29-2010 05:26 PM

I am sure I will have that privilege when I wake up, provided I feel like going outside.
