Cell phone bill? Do people still get them? ;)

Porsche-poor 01-09-2013 03:41 PM

only if you want to use your cell phone.

Outback Porsche 01-09-2013 03:47 PM

I don't see my cell phone bill. It's work provided. Last month I got bumped up to a 2G data plan. What shocked me more is that it was totally out of the blue. Didn't need to go begging and grovelling to the IT people.

I do see my wifes phone bill though :(

Porsche-poor 01-09-2013 03:49 PM

I see mine cause its not company supplied. Bit of a sticking point when is comes to emails and what not, as in I will not connect it to the company network to get them.

Porsche-poor 01-09-2013 03:50 PM

So Dave which song of Connors you like best or worst?

Outback Porsche 01-09-2013 03:51 PM

Good point. The draw back with a company phone - they expect you to contactable 24/7. Including holidays :(

I'm still dying, this persistent cough is really starting to get me down.

I keep feeling like I just aspirated a drink and need to cough it up again, nearly kills me. Can't wait for it to just pi55 off and let me get better.

Porsche-poor 01-09-2013 04:03 PM

Bummer azz. Hope things get better.

A few folks here bought into the hype of the smart phone and getting work email on it. I said not till some of the bill is paid. Not going ot happen I was told, well right back at ya! I for one love caller ID and will not even touch the thing on weekends if it is work calling.

It's not the ones that look and act crazy that go off, they are already acting out. Is that seemingly nice friendly guy that snaps and goes postal.

I had a personal cell phone and my work tried to chew my *** out because they couldn't get ahold of me one Saturday. Told them I got the cell phone for my convenience not theirs and it was my personal cell phone. The next day I got a new cell phone that was better than the one I had with an unlimited plan. Needless to say, I killed my personal phone. Just didn't see the sense in carrying two.

The house was built in the late 60's and to this day, still looks like it is from the 60's, inside and out.

that sounds like a good time. my crazy neighbor seems to have gotten the idea that i won't put up with his verbal abuse. it took a little doing.

It is kinda freaky that they have access to my previous ins co. and were able to tell the I had an accident on my record (unless Allstate reported it to the DMV. I didn't) and had to bump the numbers up slightly. I things go well, I guess my rates should go down in a little more in a year, when the accident clears. Now time to see if I can cut back on my cell phone. I think my current package allows for way too many minutes.

i have been seriously considering changing insurance companies. we have four vehicles and i think we pay about $30/month/vehicle. the only thing that prevents me from changing is that i don't know which company to trust. progressive has been okay, i just think that we pay too much. we haven't had a claim in seven years, IIRC, and that one was small, i just could not afford $700 at the time (really, things were damn tight). we've had one ticket each, the wife and i, in about 14 years.

azzy, are you getting stuff up and out? if so, what color? also, if it gets to the point that you are out of breath in any way, go to the ER. there is some serious stuff going around.

Currently my droid is better than his and is on an unlimited plan. I see no reason to down grade.

It is amazing but water has been falling from the sky most of today. Slow and steady.

Porsche-poor 01-09-2013 08:47 PM

Welcome to Washington.

Morning Y'all

Jim Richards 01-10-2013 03:00 AM

Hi Rick. Are you heading back to Cadillac?

GH85Carrera 01-10-2013 05:36 AM

Is that for liability only or full coverage?

Mrs Carrera and I both have perfect driving records. No tickets and no wrecks. The only claim was for the deer that attacked my 911 in Max's part of the world.

I have fixed valuation for my 911 and my El Camino. The Elky is worth way more than standard book value. For the 911 I am paying about $25 per month but is is insured as a pleasure only vehicle. I can drive it to work on occasion and if the Elky is in the shop for repair. My wife's car is just a car that can be replaced easily with another appliance car. It is a nice car but still just an appliance.

My Elky is the most expensive to insure. It is always a little difficult to figure out my exact cost of insurance for the cars. We have the house and all three cars insured by the same company. They do a automatic bank transfer each month. At the end of the year if we have no claims I get a nice rebate check. Last year it was $800 back to me. The agent has to bring me the paper analog check. He likes going into offices and handing a customer a big check in front of his client's co-workers.

With the three cars and the house I pay a decent chunk of change each month but I have high limits and full replacement on the house and contents.

nynor 01-10-2013 05:47 AM

glen, full coverage, IIRC, $500 deductible. which just made me realize that a $500 deductible on the rover just isn't worth it: the thing is only worth about $1800....

also, the motorcycle is the most expensive of them all to insure: $50/month. i think i am getting ripped off, there.

GH85Carrera 01-10-2013 06:08 AM

Wow, that is a lot for a motorcycle. The guy I work with has a motorcycle and it is like $12 per month.

We do have $1,000 deductible on our policy.

We do work for several LARGE corporations and the bureaucracy in large companies is often silly. They insist on having a copy of our company car insurance coverage. We don't have a company car, never have and likely never will. We have a company airplane that never comes in contact with their property. Several thousand other airplanes fly over their property evey year as well.

One company just insisted we send them proof of insurance for the company car. Finally my co-worker just grabbed one for his personal car. After a year they insisted we send them the updated proof of insurance. He had just received a card from his insurance for his daughters Vespa scooter. We sent that in as the company car insurance proof.
