Ok it's getting spark. But only when you first start cranking and it throws a few when you stop cranking. Nothing while cranking

carb'd with electric start.... No foot crank....

Been checking into counsellors and priests to help with the mental and metaphysical trauma added to my life by purchasing the Range Rover. Beautiful Day today!

Points, electronic ign?
Its got some weird electronic setup....
yup. you've got low power at the electronic ignition. a bad connection or corrosion.
Ya... I redid some stuff in the CDI a while back... think I am going to take it all apart and check things out....
You didn't solder anything with acid core solder did ya?
Uhh... Probably.... That the problem?
Dad seems to think it would have been Rosin core stuff... |
Acid core on copper wire is like putting pure acid on it. It will corrode and fail very fast. Voice of experience here
It wasn't copper wire... its a printed circuit board...
still not a good place for acid core. You may have a cold joint
So Sid has been using ACID! :D
Did you put that on your resume? |
When I thought I was immortal I had an old Yamaha 125 Enduro that I had to just take apart and put back together every couple of months to keep it running. It was something electrical with the magneto or something, never did figure it out.
After I broke my leg on my YZ250 I realized I was not immortal, sold all my bikes, and decided if I was going off-road it would be with 4 wheels and a cab or roll cage of some sort. Was instrumental in getting the signs put up prohibiting 4x4s on the bike trails :) |
