Someone grump because they need to go back to work?

svandamme 08-30-2009 10:31 PM

I actually feel pretty decent, whereas the last months i had been starting my days tired, now i'm sort of awake... I guess that 1 week of napping did some good.

livi 08-31-2009 12:48 AM

Morning, boys!

Dave, how did the driving go?

Stijn, welcome back to work. There is nothing better. :D

BTW, who is going to indulge me with the secret code to the thread post-count list? :p

Geronimo '74 08-31-2009 01:14 AM

Were on 8th place, following closely on the joke thread. We'll go to seventh place today easy

Rick V 08-31-2009 01:14 AM

Of course I am, had a good weekend, sun is still shining, nice prospects in the female department.... All is good (except the Porsche a non-roller till I find a decent garage to start some serious wrenching)

Rick V 08-31-2009 01:19 AM

Bring the car to me, I got that part covered. (bringing nice prospects as well would be a +)

livi 08-31-2009 01:25 AM

Thats cool, thanks Geronimo!

Nah, I am back in the hospital harness, Rick.

slodave 08-31-2009 01:38 AM

I had a blast. This was my 3rd AX and my first without an instructor, although 'lfot' sat right seat for a few laps and helped tremendously.

Here are two laps. The first is with Derek and is our 'fun' lap, second is my winning 75.040 time in the JS class.

Good deal.

livi 08-31-2009 02:06 AM

Looks like great fun, Mr. David Manuel Fangio. I really need to try getting out on a track one day. I have a feeling I am not exploring the limits of my car more than 10% for fear of losing it.

Markus, my biggest fear too. Losing it into the dirt/ditch/cement.... AutoX prevents that. You lose it and you just spin, no damage. I'd really recommend the Swedish equivalent. SmileWavy

I have never seen my Carrera hit the 10 o'clock position on the oil temps, today it just about did. I was worried, until others said not to.

Rick V 08-31-2009 03:36 AM

I have thought about doing the AutoX with Lanna but have just never gotten around to it. I think I would be disappointed since I used to race my BMW. I am sure I would be making to many comparisons. Here is a crappy pic of my BMW in the paddock at Summit Point, in W.Va. That is the car my daughter totaled trying to drive like Daddy.

Why do you think you would be disappointed with the SC, Rick? From what I have read, the old 911īs are great fun on track. Perhaps not that fast, but rewarding if driven well.

It shouldn't be. Two different sports. You can use what you've learned to help/advantage, but you'll still see the challenge.

When setup properly and driven well, I would say they're pretty fast too.

Rick V 08-31-2009 04:05 AM

Oh Old Lanna can hold her own, not only do you have to beat my car, you have to beat me. We make a great pair.
Besides the comment of not as fast coming from someone with NO speeding tickets doesn't hold much weight. hehehe Sorry Markus, that was just too easy. :)

And that's just an SC, a mere 3 litre... Just imagine how fast a real Carrera would be, the one with the legendary 3.2... :D:D:D

Sorry, Rick, couldn't resist... :D:D:D

Rick V 08-31-2009 04:31 AM

Thats okay, You can have the legendary 3.2, and alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the added weight the car has, all the girlie features they equip them with, the mere shadow of the original. :)
