I don't see the point on having a wedding for your parents. It's your life... Not theirs!

Flieger 07-22-2013 01:08 PM

Sometimes it is nice to do something that you don't really want to, in order to make a friend happy. The way I'd see it is that if my parents put up with my s*** for so many years, then I can dress fancy for a day. Not that I am anywhere near this dilemma.

Yea, but you want to keep the parents happy so your own marriage will be much easier. It is better and easier to have happy parents and in-laws. They give better wedding presents!

At some point you may need babysitters! :D

Babies!?! Who said anything about babies!!? Racecars and motorcycles don't need sitters.

I can see both sides. You need a good balance. If your parents want a wedding, fine but don't let them overtake it. I have seen plenty of weddings ruin the relationship between the kids and parents. But honestly, I look at my boys... I would never want them to have a wedding "for me". It's the beginning of their life with their spouse, it is time for me to let go and let them make the decisions for THEIR life together. It sets the precedence for the relationship. And if I knew having a wedding was really not what they wanted, I wouldn't want one. Truly, the only thing I would want is for my sons to be happy.

If the kids are paying for the wedding, they should be able to do whatever they want. I paid for mine. :)

Weddings usually beats funerals.

From what I can tell, it seems that marriage and racecars/motorcycles don't go well together very often. ;)

You are right. Unless you find a gal that enjoys the same. ;)

Or she makes her own money and has her own motorcycles and race cars that she doesn't give a crap what you do as long as you don't touch hers or tell her what to do with her bikes and cars. ;)

Your boys don't have to do anything, weddings are planned by a bride and her mom. Just teach them the magic phrase "yes dear"

livi 07-22-2013 02:09 PM

Pretty gay probably.

Rick V 07-22-2013 03:09 PM

Evening Y'all
A wedding is just a stand up funeral.
I also don't fear the black suburbans, it's those lousy black helicopters that are a pain, and don't get me started on drones.
